Knock knock? Hello?

I check out of IC football for three years (had a bit of bitterness over the Dept's dismissal of a friend), come back, and we've clinched the auto bid and look ready to put a hurt on Cortland?

Sounds like a good day to return to me.

Looks like the boards' technology is the same.... honestly I find it comforting :).

I won't find it comforting if the live stream technology is the same...

Go Bombers.

Booga Booga.

Hey everyone, just checking in after a close Bomber win with an idea... I took a trip to Ecuador this summer... what if we settled the "Bomber" name controversy by renaming them the BOMBEROS? Basically the same name, give or take a letter, only now we're the firemen! Eh? Eh?

Okay... back to my hiatus.

Max just wanted to pop in to congratulate the Union faithful on their appearance in the Frozen Four! It fills MP with a little East Region pride every time someone mentions Untion and the FF on 98.5's Toucher and Rich here in Boston and John Wallach says "Yes, out of Schenectady, N.Y." Between y'all, BC, the Golden Gophs, and some place called Ferris State (a large portion of which I hear is formerly incarcerated individuals), who's to say Max isn't behind the skating Dutchmen to win it all?

Now if RIT could just get their act together... maybe Coughlin can come back and coach hockey this time.

1) Long Ding is amazing.

2) I came here today, saw you were talking kickers, and figured "Oh, DIII talk spurred by the Ravens game yesterday," only to find out it came up independently? Way to represent, boys.

I wonder if a 10-day hiatus is the longest in the history of the LLPP? Times are tough all over...

It is prob. not their scheme that is the problem.  It may be the talent.  Their defense is clearly up to the task.  They lack speed on offense and specs.  I remember that jumping out at me in 2009 when i went to IC for  the IC-SJF game.   Their offense seemed pedestrian.

Now that MUC is successfully recruiting guys out of our area, it does not bode well for NY football.  We already have 10+ D3 schools grabbing at every top player that gives each team a shot at success, so the talent pool only gets smaller.

I think IC will continue to compete in the E8, and as we beat eachother up every year, they will get their share of late season opportunities to grab an AQ.

What we need is to take a knee on a season by starting a young QB so that he can emerge over the following two or three years. Doesn't need to be a superstar like Felicetti, but we can't keep throwing mediocre juniors and seniors out there for the first time and thinking we can compete. I was hoping losing the winning season record might encourage this, but from what I'm hearing out of South Hill, next year ain't going to be a beacon of hope.

I'm looking forward to next year as the year Ithaca fans will look back on 2011 with fondness and nostalgia...

Sigh.  You can say all you want about Division 1, but at least they don't have the same two f*cking teams playing each other in the championship game every year.

I don't care what type of flack I get for this, but it's boring.  I don't want to hear the crap "someone beat them"  We're fans, we have no control over who beats them.

I have had time to think this over and I still feel the same way.  I will most likely not watching on Friday night.  With the fact that my team isn't successful and a lack of parody overall, I have found myself becoming less interested.  It is what it is, and maybe I have been sucked in a little bit by the D1 culture I currently live in.  I know there isn't anything to be done about the purple powers, as they win fair and square.  That doesn't mean D3 fans everywhere aren't bored with it.

I don't know, I feel like the same championship game every year is rife for parody...

Honestly if Ithaca had wireless internet in its press box I think Gallo could have had 5 touchdowns in that game last year.

BTW...The Tommies are for real....I really thought we got MUCinized on saterday.

That is the first time since 2002 SJF got pistol whipped by a team that was undisputedly better than SJF (other than MUC of course)

I like that.

MUCinization  (accent on the first syallable) --   turning something into mucin.

+1!  ;)

Shouldn't it be UMUinization?  UMUnched-up?  UMULched?  Hmmm.

UMUiliated?

(EDIT: also, frank, you're a Union fan who went to Union and who broadcasts for Union and are currently arguing that there's no way a Union player shouldn't have won a subjective award. you may or may not be right, but you're being a homer. nothing wrong with being a homer. just don't claim some sort of weird objectivity. i don't know if you can claim it in the booth. but you can't here.)

How would you feel if you were a Bethel football player?  You beat St. Thomas last year and have to watch another 8-2 team get picked for the playoffs while you sit home and watch them get crushed by St. Thomas.  You were ranked #21 at the end of the regular season while SJF was not ranked at all.

It's not the 2010 playoffs we were selecting teams for.
based upon what I saw from watching both Bethel and St. John Fisher play St. Thomas in 2011, it's quite clear Bethel was the better than st. john fisher -first string qb or 4th string qb.  Back in October you picked Bethel v St. Thomas as your game of the week.  This past week you predicted St. Thomas 24 - SJF 10.  Certainly under the current criteria used to select pool c teams, SJF gets the nod over Bethel especially since Bethel was probably not even in consideration to be selected based upon their place in the regional rankings--but if SJF and Bethel were to be matched up against each other, I don't know how SJF could be favored.

you just dont get it do you? Go check and see what Salisbury did to AU in the reg season.  AU is a good, solid E8 squad that has won some NCAA playoff games in the past couple years.....You think based on the outcome, AU can beat noone then....you cannot read a definitive conclusion out of each and every contest between common opponents.  Matchups, home field, injuries, pressure, weather, untilely turnovers/mistakes.....everthing counts not just the name of school on paper.

82 there are not many posters whom dliip has ever come across that he feels are really not worth even getting into it with. To dlip, there is now one, AO. You might as well ****ing lay down face first on a cement side walk and talk yourself for 3 ****ing hours. dlip feels he is just not worth it. Especially when he comes on this thread and starts talking out of his ass about a 2011 team that did not make the playoffs and complains that they are/were more deserving of a bid than a team that defeated two undefeated teams, on the road, in rounds 1 and 2.
I let your pre-game predictions of SJF giving St. Thomas their toughest test after a weak schedule annoy me a bit too much.  Even if you're unwilling to concede their might have been better teams left out in favor of Fisher, I can see most of you at least respect the reality of your defeat against St. Thomas and I won't ask for more.  Good luck in 2012.

epic karma brah.
