I don’t understand the reason why there is ever a repeat playing at the same location unless the field is unplayable. Isn’t every other year something that should never change?

I know not all of our schools ended up playing last spring, but I have to say, I kind of miss it. I could handle football every other season.

I wonder if the conference is trying to change things so there won't be schools making two trips per season to Dubuque to play at Loras and UD.  I think BVU and maybe a few others have been doing that.  I know next season Dubuque gets Simpson at home and is at NWU for the 2nd straight year.

In news that may lead Fannosaurus Rex to consider Dubuque his/her favorite "eastern" Iowa ARC team, UD makes it official and will have a marching band for the 2022 season.  They started with a drum line last fall.

Guessing that is exacerbated by not having a 2020 season.

That, and some series home/away were switched when Nebraska Wesleyan came on board.

Dubuque played at Central in 2016 and 2017.  Then with no home game against Central in 2020 it means Dubuque has played at Central in 16,17, 19, and 21 while only getting a home game in 2018 during that time.

From the General board, there was a link to the NACUBO endowment study.

734 schools responded to the study.  Median for all institutions was $200,390,000  Up from $159,264 in 2020.

Iowa schools that I found on there.  I could have missed some.

45 - Iowa  $3,137,019,000  +24.2%
49 - Grinnell  $2,931,550,000  +40.2%
98 - Iowa St  $1,496,510,000  +36.1%
312 - Drake  $279,782,000  +27.3%
335 - Dubuque  $240,416,000  +34.3%
358 - St Ambrose  $210,198,000  + 24.8%
360 - Luther  $207,387,000  +24.1%
395 - UNI  $177,301,000  +31.0%
410 - BVU  $162,181,000  +25.7%
512 - Central  $99,746,000  +34.7%
527 - Cornell  $93,804,000  +15.6%
565 - Northwestern  $75,165,000  +33.5%
618 - Morningside  $57,249,000  +22.1%
682 - Grand View  $32,963,000  +25.9%

Simpson?
A number of schools, Simpson among them, have stopped participating in this survey. In past years, Coe and Simpson were in neighborhood of where Central and Cornell were those years they all were in the survey.

Anyone have an idea of the graduation losses for each ARC team for next year?

Peter Ragen (league MVP) was the only senior on the Dubuque squad.  Of course, you never know who might not return next year.

DUBUQUE RECRUIT

Apologies if this has previously been reported.

Dubuque has received a commitment from 6’1” PG Mike Clarke of Cary-Grove IL HS.
Steady player who has neither excessive highs nor lows. Potential for improvement with good coaching.

Thank you.  We appreciate all the Dubuque...and ARC news you can get us!  I've seen a bit of Twitter chatter about commits, but get nervous until I see them on campus.  And a few years ago we even had a kid that came in with Peter Ragen who transferred to Loras 1 week into his arrival so you never know.  With Ragen leaving with 2 straight titles I wonder what that other kid thinks now  ;)

Historical numbers are not considered. Here's a quick glance at the primary criteria:

Buena Vista: 14-11 vs. D-III as of Sunday, .568 SOS, 2-5 against regionally ranked opponents
Coe: 19-5 vs. D-III, .521 SOS, 1-3 against regionally ranked opponents

BVU's regionally ranked opponents are generally better as well, with a win against Stout and losses to La Crosse and St. John's, split with Dubuque. Coe is swept by Dubuque, split with BVU.

Neither BVU nor Coe is getting an at-large bid, so it doesn't really matter who is ranked ahead, frankly.

Thanks

Do those doing the rankings look at historical numbers?  I've wondered if the history BVU has carries any weight as a 14-11 team you would think would get less love than a 20 win Coe and a 19 win Dubuque.  That doesn't seem to be the case.

Tonight, Dubuque and BVU will find out who they will get to play on Thursday. If the games go on as scheduled with this weather.

NWU @ Coe
Loras @ Wartburg

Hoping SpartyBlue can give a preview.  I saw virtually no basketball this year.

There are alot of specters in those pictures.  I hope there is a line in the budget for Ghostbusters.

The daughter of a friend of mine says the UD campus reminds her of Hogwarts, so I guess ghouls, ghosts, poltergeists, and specters would feel at home there  ;)

I'm curious when spring practices for the ARC schools will take place.  Also curious if anyone out there has any conference scuttlebutt.  Coaches coming/going.  Any recruiting news? Transfer news? Stadium news?
