Congrats to Cortland on the tremendous victory and National Title last night.  A great night for Division 3 football!

ALL-NWC is out

https://nwcsports.com/news/2023/11/22/2023-all-nwc-football-team-announced-pirates-ewing-sandberg-wildcats-rybar-and-loggers-nelson-earn-top-honors.aspx

Top awards are spot on.

BTW, the NWC HC's need to check themselves on the honorable mentions, there is like 500 guys on that list. Lewis and Clark had NINE guys named honorable mention.  NINE

If that's the case then NWC DC's will be crying into their milk because Ewing is a dude.

WW, QB is the best I have seen on the West Coast in the last 5+ years. Watched the fourth quarter of the LF game and Chapman game. He has skills, throws on the run, checks down, moves well surprise he ended up in D3.

Best QB Whitworth has ever had and the best non-Linfield QB in the NWC since Chad Johnson at PLU (97-2000).  The NWC should be happy he's a one and done.

The post game antics goes back to the 2019 OT game at Whitworth when our guys rushed the field after the last play to end the game.  The best way to stop that would have been to win but Ewing made all the plays he needed to in the 4th and Linfield didn't. That's sports.

I think for a lot of us posters that saw little issues that were concerning about this 2023 team those items played a critical role in the loss today.

We have a tremendous staff and if today is the end of the season I hope the guys in the program will use today to light a fire in their belly.

Congrats Whitworthon the dub and title

I would love for Fan to be correct but think this is gonna be a battle.  Been super impressed with Ewing all season long and The Rats have a number of weapons to make plays.

It's a playoff game for both programs because I don't see either getting an at-large so it's win or turn in your gear.

Pretty solid game by the 'Cats before PLU was able to get those late 4th qt points against the reserves.

Offense looked really good once the young McNabb settled down at QB.  Hopefully we'll be healthier for the big showdown.

Whitworth should be at least in the top 25 maybe 23?

Whitworth is 100% a top 25 team but voters are going to wait till the Linfield result until they pull the trigger. They've been super impressive this season.

I agree. At times this team looks so damn good but they take the foot off the gas or are just flat inconsistent. If we play like we did today we could get upset at PLU and not only will Whitworth beat us, they'll flat kick our ass

Uninspired effort

We'll, who did shoot and edit the video?  I won't tell anyone if it's a secret. ;D

Ryan Welch of AO Films. His son is a frosh WR. Ryan has been shooting with me since Willamette and did the UPS on his own. As you can see, Ryan is really damn good at his craft. Lucky to have his help!

Thanks Cris!  I'll pass along the compliments to the guy who shot and edited the video. I took last week off.  ;D

Truly though, at this point, I really just want to see the University commit to building and supporting a consistently competitive program that can challenge for a conference title every once in a while.

That's the key part right there, what is the administration going to do.  I'll be hoping for a good candidate to take over and try to point the program in a better direction.  No love loss between the two programs but it's just more fun beating you guys when you're good. :)

Outstanding first half for the 'Cats.  *This close* to being 42-0 at the break but the game was all over after that.

Eaton has grown a ton as we moved along and keeps making great decision with the ball and spreading it around to all of the 'Cats weapons.  Our defensive line chewed up Fox and spit them out.  Fox had a little over 60 yards of total offense in the 4th QT before they were able to rack up some yards on the 'Cats young guys.

Haven't done it this year but this is how I see it right now in terms of NWC Power Rankings.

1. Linfield - Until proven otherwise
2. Whitworth - Outstanding team on a collision course with the 'Cats
3. L&C - Program is on the come up
4. PLU - Have some tough dudes
5. UPS - Their QB is really good, could give the 'Cats some fits next week
6. Pacific - Thought they would be much better this year
7. Fox - Stud WR from last year covered up a lot of their program issues as an offense
8. Willamette - They're really bad.
