Cortland action vs. Trinity TX on hold .........rain ....

From the Weather Channel:

Showers this morning, becoming a steady rain during the afternoon hours. Thunder possible. High 74F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Just to clarify on a couple of things:

1) The video issue for Cortland's game Friday was not the fault of anyone producing the broadcast. It was an internet provider issue - the broadcast was being done, but couldn't be sent out until the internet issue was fixed. The people the NCAA hires to do the broadcast produce a top-notch broadcast; it was unfortunate that no one could see that game. Appears the issue has been fixed since.

2) The stats people here don't keep pitch counts, so any numbers out there are either guesses, or numbers tracked by the individual teams.

The people here in Wisconsin run a first-class operation. I've been fortunate to be here multiple times, and I've been treated great every time. They provide a great experience for the athletes (now, if they could only figure out how to control the weather...) :)

According to @trinityUsports tarp is off and game time start set for 12:00 local time.

Unfortunately Trinity baseball lost both their Left Fielder and DH in a tragic turn of events. Both decided to turn pro in sumo wrestling.

Cortland falls 9-7 to Trinity TX in test of Pool A unbeaten. RDragons play .....maybe ....later tonight vs. Wisc-LaCrosse in elimination contest. Trinity advances to Monday action. Game twice delayed by rain. Due for 11 a.m. Eastern start ....finishes 5:20 Eastern

Trinity on top with three-run second inning. Corts rebound for five scores in the fourth but  in 8-5 hole when Tigers score five times in the sixth inning including three on D. Butler home run. Dragons within 8-7 with two-run eighth. Trinity gets one in the top of the ninth. Cortland leadoff batter reaches in the ninth. DP erases that threat.

T. Whiteman starts for Cortland  and tosses 5.2 innings (7r, 7er, 8h, 2bb, 5k). J. Winters goes 2.2 innings, A. Brant .2 inning. Have 13-11 hit edge. P. Dondero 3x4, 2r, 2bi, 3 2bh from No. 2 slot; C. Ziemendorf, P. Schetter, J. Teague 2h each; N. Hart 2 bi.  Dragons with two errors, Trinity one. Tigers with four pitchers and end 20 game Cortland win streak

Cortland taking on Wisconsin-La Crosse in an elimination game. Red Dragons fall behind early 1-0 when La Crosse scores a single run in the 2nd inning. Cortland gets a lead with 2 runs in the top of the 4th and the Wisconsin team gets another marker in the bottom of the 4th to knot things up again. Red Dragons get 2 runs in the 5th and get some breathing room with 3 more in the 6th to go in front 7-2. Once again the video feed is on the fritz after working fine for the earlier games today. Live stats are working so that's how I'm following the game.

Cortland scored 2 runs in the 4th inning on a F. Ricci single followed by a S.Figueroa double to score Ricci. A. Clock then singled to plate Figueroa.

2 runs in the 5th inning accomplished with a double steal by F. Ricci and C.Ziemendorf and followed by a 2 run single by A. Clock.

3 run 6th inning features a walk to J. Teague who is sacrificed to 2nd and moved over to 3rd on  ground out. P. Dondero walked and stole 2nd followed by another single by C.Ziemendorf to score Teague and put runners on the corners. F. Ricci's 2nd hit of the game scores Dondero and sends Ziemendorf to 3rd. Ricci then steals 2nd base allowing Ziemendorf to score with a steal of home.

Nice to see St. John Fisher win an elimination game 4-3 against the other WIAC conference team Wisconsin-Whitewater.

2 NY teams beating 2 WIAC teams in any sport doesn't happen often. Hope that's the case shortly as the Cortland game is now starting the top of the 8th with the Red Dragons still up 7-2.

jdex,

Now I'm confused because I watched bits and pieces of every game on Sunday but couldn't get the Cortland-La Crosse game to load. Went to the D3 link, the NCAA link and the Cortland website link. None of them brought that game up for me.

Thanks for letting me know. We'll see what tomorrow will bring.

Hopefully wins over Trinity-Texas.

Cortland goes down 5-2 to Trinity TX in elimination game. RDragon thrown out at the plate for final out.  Cortland leaves bases loaded in both sixth and seventh innings without scoring. Seventh ends with Trinity shortstop C. Moore making over the shoulder tumbling catch in short left of F. Ricci bid for a hit after fouling off two 3-2 pitches

Trinity scores one in first and second innings. Corts square it in the bottom of the second on C. Ziemendorf rbi double and A. Clock rbi single to center on which Ziemendorf thrown out at the plate. Trinity with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, and adds unearned run in the eighth

Tigers with 10 hits, Cortland seven. N. DiBenedetto starts for CSt and throws 6.1 innings (4r, 4er, 9h, 0bb, 4k). K. Curry faces one batter. A. Brant pitching since the seventh and T. Parry finishes. Trinity lefty reliever A. Hoffman solid vs. stacked lefty swinging Dragon attack

Cortland homebound and concludes 43-8. Trinity from Pool A into best-of-three finale and betters Keystone PA in two straight for WS crown

Cortland State's D3 Pitcher of the Year Seth Lamando will surely have eyes on upcoming D1 World Series in Omaha where mid-major Coastal Carolina is bound after sweeping host LSU in Super Regionals. From downstate NY, Lamando recruited and played two seasons at Coastal before coming 'home.' Earned rookie honors at Coastal and no doubt has ex-mates reaching the Series

Cortland pitcher Turner Parry has signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels. Reliever Parry becomes the 22nd Cortland player since 1994 to sign a professional contract, including 13 with major league organizations. He is on the roster of the Angels' rookie team in the Arizona League

Seth must be quite pleased that his former team won the D1 World Series to claim the Walnut and Bronze. May have a few regrets as well, wondering what might have been. Wonder if this may help him get a look from some MLB teams.

Any news on the nephew front and where he's at?

Why regrets, he got to hold a trophy of his own last year.  I expect that having been on Coastal would make a team look twice at his resume.
