Love the new format and happy to see the Boards back, along with all of our old friends. Looking forward to see some good banter as we head into Spring ball post break.

Really interesting to see how many FBS and FCS offers Richardson has received so far (15+). Obviously, talented kid but we're sure the 2023 success of Tomlinson and Lutz in the CAA this year has something to do with the interest Richardson is receiving.

As an aside, not sure we've seen anything here on this but Donovan Wood has also entered the transfer portal. Seems like the NESCAC is officially a WR "factory". Who's next, Sean Clapp?

Congratulations to Eph alum Union HCOF Poppe getting the Columbia job...great step up by him...will be interesting to see who gets the Dutchmen HCOF spot...also interesting to see how this impacts the NESCAC coaching ranks...Big Kat was on this as well.

Chaz and cardiacEph should host a nescac podcast-some real innovative football minds there ;) guessing neither played a lick of meaningful football.

Interesting coaching news forthcoming from the Liberty league to an Ivy opening. Will be interesting to see if any nescac coordinators will be in mix for that LL opening.

We heard the same news KAT and it is interesting. Good for that HCOF. He deserves the shot. It will be interesting to see who moves into the LL HCOF spot and the impact it has on the potential Colby HCOF opening.

Thanks N1

Joahansen one of the more impressive prospects I've seen in recent years- on both sides of the ball.

In the preseason I was also touting Gehring and he certainly turned out as an outstanding talent and playmaker as predicted. That kid is going to be explosive no matter where he plays. They will put 5-10 lbs on him in the offseason and watch out.
Despite of the criticism on the board of Raymonds recruiting prowess and this years Ephs recruiting class I projected it as very good recruiting class for Williams which I believe it was.

Contrary to opinions of others I won't fault a coach for recruiting QBs heavily as they long as the kids understand and accept the fact they could be moved to another position.

Many NESCAC rosters are populated with players who were recruited as QBs and moved to other positions with great success.
Current examples- Fahey/Bowdoin  Beltran/Bates along with the Williams group and countless others over the years.

Logan Tomlinson, who just made 3rd Team All-CAA as a WR, was recruited as a QB for Wes, to further prove your point.

12 All-NESCAC selections plus DPOY and Coaching Staff of the Year for Middlebury. Great season for the NESCAC Co-Champions. NM goes a perfect 4/4 on OPOY, DPOY, ROY, and COY. And I think he got "Team of the Year" right too.

Thank you Maple. We're looking forward to receiving a NESCAC champion shirt from our friends up north.

A post that we think EVERYONE (yes, even Uncle Charlie) will agree on....

Shame on the powers that be at the NESCAC mothership for not posting the 2023 League Awards and All-NESCAC Teams prior to Thanksgiving, thus depriving the student-athletes and their families the opportunity to celebrate their successes when they are together for the holiday. Really unfortunate and bad form, if you ask us. Not surprised but disappointed for the student-athletes.

On a more positive note, we wish all of our fellow Boardsters and NESCAC fans a very safe and enjoyable family (yes, even you HS9-o). We ALL have much to be thankful for.

Nescacman, I was hoping you had some inside info with your league contacts.  Oh well.  Thank you for another season of your commentary on the NESCAC.  I am looking forward to your podcasts next fall.  I think the players and fans will enjoy them.   Happy Thanksgiving to all.

We do and we pinged our contact. The comment back was they thought they were up already. haha...

I'll follow the many new accounts on here in saying that I too just finished my last game of NESCAC football. I made my account on the bus ride back to Middlebury while sitting next to the championship banner ;D

NM - Thank you for the welcome and for all your insights over the past few seasons. I've really enjoyed the content and look forward to joining the discussions.

Welcome as well, Maple. We cherish our 2019 NESCAC Championship Middlebury Football t-shirt sent to us by some of your alums after you smoked us to win the title that year. Hopefully, you'll upgrade us to a 2023 version of the shirt for our recognition of the Panthers as the true "King of the North". NM

Jut finished my playing career at Bowdoin and look forward to becoming more active on this board. All things considered it was a very disappointing season and a lot was left on the table. I think the Middlebury game will haunt me the most- having the ball on their 6 yard line with a chance to go ahead late in the 4th on the road.. just brutal. Also I thought we should've handled Wes by 10.. the sequence of blocked fg, pick sick, fumble six, broken coverage td right before half absolutely changed that game.. should've been 21-0 at half (shoulda woulda coulda- I know) I think that our offensive skill players were probably the most talented Bowdoin has had in recent memory between Fahey, king, postemski, eden, Watson, Hoggard (who's injury hurt us a lot), and boel/long and not sure a more talented group will roll into Brunswick any time soon- hurts to know we left so many wins on the table- especially as a senior who has seen the talent grow immensely since the time we arrived in Brunswick. Defensively, we were the definition of boom/bust. way too many big plays over the top that absolutely changed momentum in big moments. For such an undersized front 7 I thought we performed very well but obviously trinity exploited that and then some in week 10- they were an absolute wagon. Playing in the nescac has been an amazing experience and I have a lot of respect for a lot of players/coaches as well as the people on this board that spread their passion for nescac football daily.

Welcome into the pool West, the water is warm! Looking forward to hearing your insights on the Polars, the C-B-B, and the NESCAC in general. We'd also like to invite you to join us a guest next summer as we launch our weekly podcast covering all things NESCAC football. Congratulations on a great career and good luck in whatever you decide to do post graduation. We're sure you willl be a huge success. NM

Nescacman,
What do you think the chances the all-league information comes out today v. next week?  25/75; 50/50; 75/25?

Since the Ivies put out their list yesterday, we'd put it at 50/50.  ;D

To those former players who have joined the Boards, welcome. Awesome when other former NESCAC student-athletes jump in. Would love to have you as guests for our NESCAC Football podcast beginning late summer of 2024.

I hope we could work this out. It would be fun to discuss the outlook of the Bantams shooting for the 3-peat amidst all of the new faces we will see in Hartford, as well as what fans can expect from a player's outlook.

We already have a couple of stellar guests lined up for the podcast including some NESCAC legends. Would love to include you. Please message us privately so we can get the dialogue going. The show will be hosted by yours truly and the voice of the Cards, Chris Grace.

While we anxiously await Thanksgiving Day, the continuation/culmination of NJ HS Football Play-offs this weekend (all we have to look forward to in the NY Metro Area this year, unfortunately, due to not having a "professional" football team), and Mr. NESCAC to announce individual league awards and All-NESCAC performers (hopefully, before the 2024 starts...is the NESCAC SID also the Lord Mammoth SID?!? Asking for a friend), the League has posted the 2024 schedule. Some games of note:

Week 1:Wes opens at defending league champ Middlebury (where they have had problems in recent years) and the new look Polars with travel to the Coop to face second place Hartford State, who will have a new signal caller.

Week 2: The Jumbo's travel to Wes in what will be a fun game under the lights as the Cards will look for some payback after the 2023 drubbing.

Week 3: We think the Ephs in the Coop against the Roosters in McHugh's year 2 is one to watch..

Week 4: Hartford State plays the Jumbo's at Ellis Oval, in what could be another payback game this time for the Berlutti led Elephant's.

Week 5: Purple Cows playing Middlebury in Vermont could be a fun game in HCOF Doug's soph season.

Week 6: The long awaited rematch between the 2023 league Champion Panthers and Hartford State, this time in Vermont.

Week 7: Little 3 game as the Lord Mammoths host the Cards. The other interesting game has the Jumbo's traveling to the Purple Mountains to face the Ephs, who we do expect to be better.

Week 8: Of course, the Ephs facing Wes in the homecoming tilt in Middletown is the primary game. We think UBates should be improved and they host Bowdoin in week 8 in a C-B-B battle, probably under the lights.

Week 9: A bunch of fun games...Wes traveling to the hood to face Hartford State, Tufts hosting the Panthers (hopefully these games are important to decide the 2024 league champ), and of course, for the elitist's on the Board, Williams hosts the Lord Mammoths in the Little 3 consolation game.

To those former players who have joined the Boards, welcome. Awesome when other former NESCAC student-athletes jump in. Would love to have you as guests for our NESCAC Football podcast beginning late summer of 2024.

While we are on the topic of OPOTY as well, although I understand NESCACMAN's point and obvious experience in the outcomes of these awards over the years, it strikes me as odd that coaches cannot put performance on the field over possible antics or personal behavioral issues they may or may not have with a player. Fetter clearly had an absolute all-time statistical season, and whether you want to use the running up the score argument or not, he still had to go out every week and perform. Not only did he perform, but he performed better than any Trinity QB ever has, and in some aspects better than any NESCAC QB ever has. Yes, he has Sean Clapp, but Richardson has last year's OPOTY. And yes, the Trinity O-Line is outstanding, but most on this board were talking about how the Tufts O-Line was better due to sack count only a couple of weeks ago. Each candidate has great players around them that make them better, that is just the way the game works.

I understand the politics of it all, and that NESCACMAN is likely correct in his predictions, but it still boggles my mind that that can play a part in collegiate sports awards that are not dedicated to anything other than performance.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Like Cooperstown? Maybe we should ask Bonds, Palmiero, and Rocket who should be NESCAC OPOTY.  ;D
