 Elmhurst says at #6 after a tough week-end at the Midwest Challenge, losing to Hope 3-2 and Calvin 3-0.

Final:  #3 Carthage over ARV IL Wesleyan in 4 sets
              (25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20)

Carthage:  Acton .478 hitting pct. 3 other Firebirds with .286 or higher hitting pcts.

IL Wesleyan:  14 service aces, however, were outhit as a team .221 to .132 (Carthage still had a better flow on offense on serves the Firebirds were able to return, and other plays when the Firebirds were on offense).

(I thank one of the Transylvania announcers who during the HCAC WVB Tournament a few weeks back informed me, over the live feed I took in, about the effect more often then not a high number of service aces by one squad can have on a match. Today's CCIW match was one of the rare exceptions to that rule.)
