Final:  .......Cortland 22-4 over Keystone in elimination game. T. Phillips grand slam in the fourth makes it 8-2. Phillips in 11-run sixth adds three-run home run for eight rbi in the elimination game. P. Schetter solo home run in the second, knocks in fourth run with single for Cortland and is finishes 4x4. A. Chaszar two-run two-out homer for Keystone cuts margin to 4-2 at the time. M. Harrington toes rubber for RDragons till exiting in the fourth. Giants leave sacks full in the first and fourth.
Have a feeling runs will be plentiful in this one. Just didn't see it one-way! Cortland faces regional unbeaten host Washington & Jefferson Presidents on Monday at noon. CSt needs to win twice Monday vs. W&J

Earlier, Cortland shows some pitching depth .......A. Weingarten on the mound for Sunday morning elimination game vs. DePauw and throws complete game 9-0, five-hit shutout. Retires 16 straight Tigers from third to eighth innings.
    T. Phillips with third inning sac fly, S. Figueroa with fourth inning two-out ground-rule two-rbi double to kayo DePauw starter as RDragons build 5-0 lead
In Cortland sixth M. Perivolaris triples, C. BeVard rbi single and T. Phillips rbi single that takes weird twist. Phillips' bat declared illegal by plate umpire for apparent third out of the sixth inning. Discussion ensues over Phillips batting with broken bat. Out call reversed. Phillips hits safely. J. Teague follows with rbi double. Cortland with 14 hits
DePauw leaves runners on second and third in the third when Weingarten registers two strikeouts. Earlier centerfielder P. Dondero makes fine snare with runners aboard

Oswego falls 7-6 to two-run homer to Southern Maine's Z. Quintal in the top of the ninth. Blow comes off Lakers' T. Cronin who was on in relief. Title game of NY Regional between same two combatants upcoming.

Cortland comes up short in its Mideast Region seventh game and loses 6-3 to host Washington & Jefferson after forcing final game with 7-6 win earlier Monday. RDragons in the deciding contest hold early 3-0 lead on N. Budge rbi single and double. Season-long reliever P. Boice draws starting assignment and serves four-plus innings before yielding to frosh help. Can't hold off W&J surge while W&J top starter R. Groves shuts down CSt. Hurls complete game for 10th win in 12 decisions.
      Cortland winds up 38-9.

      Go Oswegooooooooo!!

Cortland falls short in a tight game. To battle back and force a second game was impressive enough, but proved too much. Congrats on a great season boys. Excited for Oswego to get their opportunity to represent the SUNYAC in the World Series and wish them all the best.

This young man, currently a senior in high school, will be taking his talents to DIII baseball next year as he will attend Huntingdon College in the USA South Athletic Conference. What an amazing story.

Congratulations to Oswego State and Cortland State on outstanding seasons in DIII Baseball this year. Nice to see a pair of YAC schools in the national limelight all season long. Hope we have more success next season.

Cortland ranked first nationally in Division III in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper 2018 preseason poll. Ranked first in the preseason for the third straight year. Last spring, the RDragons finished 38-9 and tied for ninth nationally in the NCAA Division III playoffs, one win shy of making their fourth straight World Series appearance.

Cortland's current run of 25 straight NCAA tournament appearances is the longest active streak in Division III and the third longest in any NCAA division behind Division I schools Florida State (40) and Cal St.-Fullerton (26).

The RDragons open 2018 season with games at #20 Salisbury on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-18. Play at #17 Johns Hopkins March 4, as well a home-and-home series with #21 Ithaca and three SUNYAC games versus #15 Oswego.

D3baseball.com preseason national poll released in mid-January.

It will be interesting to see how this progresses. I am not sure if they release weekly updates or any updates at PG.
