NPU season preview is up. It indicates that sophomore punter John Gieseking may be seeing some duty as place-kicker as well, or at least contending with sophomore transfer Noah Moore for that spot. That's a new development, as far as I know.

I'll be taping an interview with Mike Conway later this week and playing it at halftime on Saturday night, so I'm going to get the scoop on the kicking situation.

I am not sure I will be able to sleep until I find out the outcome of the NPU kicking cliffhanger!! :o ;D

If you happen to doze off in the middle of my webcast, you can probably get the NPU kicking 411 on SportsCenter when you wake up. ;)

What does North Park need a kicker for?  Oh, kick-offs.

Ahh gameday is finally here.  I am curious to see how Elmhurst opens up.  Appears we have solid early Fall weather. I can recall games this time of the year in the upper 80's with high humidities, which never made it easy on the body.

Doesn't NPU's kicker always come close to the team leader in tackles?   :P  Sorry couldn't resist.  In all seriousness, I do hope NPU is able to someday get competitive and become a consistent challenge for other teams.

Bluejays will kick-off the D3 season tonight and the defense of their share of the CCIW title @ Langhorst Field, 7:00 pm vs. Loras

Home games will always be available LIVE here: http://bluejaytv.com/

If you are in the Western Burbs, definitely worth swinging by the campus tonight - i am told of plenty of festivities surrounding the home opener - live DJ, "beverage" tent, and (i have heard rumors of) a new feature at Langhorst known as "The Birdcage" - an endzone student section that should certainly be lively by the evening hours.  Loras is also planning a large Chicago-area alumni soiree at the field, and as always, the on-campus tailgating will draw quite a crowd.

Should be fun - Go Jays.

It's a Great Day to be a Jay!

IWU preview from the Pantagraph...

Does NCC require a college degree for their coaches?  If IWU were to revoke the degrees of HC John Thorne and DC Mike Murray for 'treason', might that slow the Cardinals down?!  ;D ;)

Just thinking out loud here. ;)

Looks like Don Larson taught them both a bit too well. :P
