Matt Miller is lost with ACL, tough break as the kid was shining last year stepping in for the injured Harrington.

Ugh, that is not good news.  :'(
Yea, he's another big body WR to run the fade in the corners inside the red zone. Jared Streit on one side & Miller on the other side create match up problems in that scenario. Who do you double cover? How many D3 teams have multiple 6'5" CB to cover those two guys? That being said, the diversity of the WR,TE & RB is pretty impressive. Deep threats, over the middle, swing passes. It could get interesting. I'm anxious to see how the Oline gels, that will be key.

I dont know that the fade route will have too many DC's worried.

It has been interesting to see the fade  quickly disappear from college and nfl playcalling. The conversion rates are so low (30% in NFL & College) with the need for a perfect pass and the advent of better cb skills coaching on specific routes.  Most other red zone routes have conversion rates 10 - 15% higher.

So are you talking about throwing passes to a WR that is injured and out for the year who would potentially be running a route that is not used anymore?  Just trying to keep up with you guys.......

When it comes to Bethel, SJU prefers to just let the backup QB shred Royal defense.

Good point.

Must've been forced to use the starter in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013?

Nice little run for the Royals. I admit I was surprised so I took a look at the series results. The series looks a lot better for SJU if you extend it out and include the last 3 years...and also push the start back to 2001.

2001-2016
Bethel: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013
SJU: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016

Good info, thanks for passing along!  I'm hearing that there are 3-4 guys up for the OLB spot, including Weber and Kraft.  That specific position hadn't been decided yet, but regardless, UST will be stacked at LB.  Matt Mitchell will back up at ILB.

Always such drama from the same two people who follow the UMAC and also have Twitter. :)

I like Mitchell at ILB. I was wondering though with his size if they were going to move him to DL this year to get him on the field. He's talented, but Brant and Harrell are studs.

The OL should be pretty solid this year with four starters returning. What sticks out to me is that Longstreet put on 40 pounds from last season!

I'm really exited to see Pallini play this year. I think he's going to be a special player for UST and a good target for Perra.

I'm curious to see how the WR spot shapes up this year. I figure Iverson is our #3 receiver and will be interesting to see how Gabe Green works into the mix. Coaches last year talked about his ridiculous athleticism and speed, and I had heard at one point that his move to WR was partially precipitated by a few WRs not returning from last year's squad. Comparing the rosters, it looks like the guys with eligibility that aren't back are Matt Lehman and Thomas O'Neil. I also see that Bennie Wilson, who had some reps at FB last year, is not listed on the roster. Anyone know anything about these guys or anyone else notable I'm missing that isn't back this year?

WR will be interesting for sure.  Hearing great things about Gabe Green at WR, and know he's crazy athletic as well.  I think Pellini will step right into the shoes of the departed Nick Waldvogel and pick up right where Nick left off.  Should give UST great options at WR.  Iverson in there too.

Lehman transferred out of UST if I recall correctly, but not entirely sure on that.  Tommy O'Neil unfortunately retired from football due to injuries.

Maybe they are part of the group that is required until the school year starts to be able to join the team. F.A.M.I.L.Y.
