Oh for the days of the Pace Arrow, although it might not fit in #17. Might've needed #18 too.   ;D
I'm in #18, there's more than enough room with my mid-size SUV for the Pace-Arrow  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Well. I guess today we find out whether the Stout game was an anomaly, or the Johnnies are not what we thought they were. Hoping for the former.

They will be fine-they learned just because they take the field the other team isn't quitting.
After his second touchdown catch in a record-setting day, St. John's receiver Will Gillach pointed skyward. That, folks, was for former head coach John Gagilardi. The legendary coach of the Johnnies for 60 seasons and 64 in college overall died Sunday. He was 91. His 489 victories are most in college football history in any division.

The johnnies are never what you guys think they are, but they are a pretty good football team. Jays win by 2+ scores today.

I'm cautiously optimistic about today's St John's game! No doubt the early bye week helped after the struggles we faced against Stout, but the question to be answered is how much? We'll see how beneficial it was & how much we grew/corrected mistakes. Like all of my fellow Johnnie faithful, I hope today's game gives us a glimpse of how special the season may be! Will keep an eye on the Whitewater/St Xavier (5th ranked in the NAIA) matchup.

Hey Johnnies

Best to ya today from one of your outside fans. Go Johnnies!  ;D
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

carletonknights

100th meeting today between Carleton and St. Olaf. Go Knights!

Carleton will be starting a freshman QB who has yet to receive live reps so if I'm being realistic I think the Oles win by two scores.

Out of curiosity is the Battle for the Goat Trophy the oldest matchup in the MIAC?

Mr.MIAC

Is watching Gustavus beat SJ2 really worth ten dollars? I'm pretty frugal.

BDB

Just a reminder that the Johnnies won the game v Stout. You guys are used to too many walk overs. A win is a win.

Now, being the one guy on here that has seen both the Johnnies and Gusties play versus a common opponent, I predict a close game.

Possible rain may influence things a bit. Hope not.

Always odd to see a drunken Sconnie as the voice of reason here on the MIAC board  ;D

If the spread at Hamline today is 80 points, are you taking the over or the under?

Robert Zimmerman

At the SJU-GAC game today.  Both offenses were fun to watch.  GAC is really improved over the last two seasons.  If they can keep Veldman healthy, they will beat at least one of the upper tier teams (UST, Concordia, or Bethel).

DuffMan

Long game!

GAC is for real.  That have some talent on that team.

Are expectations as high for this season as they were after last year or have they been tempered? Gustavus moved the ball really well against us. We left some points out there, but came away with the win!

It's a long season.  SJU made big strides last year, and they stayed healthy.  As long as this team improves each week, they'll be fine.  There were already some big improvements over the Stout game.

Gustavus moved the ball well through the air because they have a very talented, veteran QB and some nice receivers.  SJU looked a little soft at times, but GAC will rack up a lot of passing yardage this season!

Good things from this afternoon: pass completions to 9 different receivers and 7 sacks for the defense.

WTF was with the targeting call on LaCasse?  Seriously, I don't know what he could have done differently.  I understand the intent of the rule, but some of the calls I've seen are questionable at best, and to be ejected for a questionable call is complete BS.
