In a similar vein, The Athletic polled players at the Pro Bowl about their votes for OPOY, DPOY, etc. In the category of most underrated (asking them not to vote for teammates), Hunter Renfrow won on offense with 3 votes. A bunch of other players all got a single vote, including ... Ben Bartch

Quote
Ben Bartch, G, Jaguars: The second-year lineman from Division III St. John’s in Minnesota stepped into a starting role in October and kept the job the rest of the season. The 2020 fourth-round pick, who bulked up from tight end in college, has made a good case to be Jacksonville’s right guard.

Ravi Alston is turning some heads at Montana State!

Montana State receiving corps emerging at spring practice

Good for him! Love seeing D3 guys ball out, whether that's up a few divisions or in the pros. Always fun to see the top of our talent prove the quality of play at the D3 level.

@AO, I just realised as I typed this that I neglected to send the package as promised.  I will stop at the post office this week and send it off.  A couple goodies are inside for you.
Ha, I thought it might have been lost at sea.  Go Hawks!

I want a package from down under!!

Heh.  Run the pick 'ems for ten years, a thankless job, and I'll have more Hawthorn gear lying around the house to send.

Ehh, I guess I don't want a package that badly! p.s. Thanks AO

It was a cool tournament to go to. I went 3 times when Stevens Point was NAIA. Played at Kemper Arena.

The old NAIA tournament at Kemper Arena was exceptional. It was a classic venue, and probably the most competitive small college basketball tournaments ever held, since the pool of teams/talent was so large.

If you ever get the chance, the College Basketball Experience in KC is a really cool setup as well. Very interactive, and gives a great in depth look at the history of college basketball, at all levels.

UW-Stout 2022 schedule is posted. Non cons at Wartburg and at Gustavus. Looks like still room for one more for the Blue Devils, either week 1 or week 4.

https://stoutbluedevils.com/sports/football/schedule/2022

Both very intriguing Non-con games.

I mentioned to Mrs. Duff the other day that U$T made an unsolicited offer on a local country club, and her immediate repsonse was, "Was it Bushwood?"  ;D

She's a keeper Duff  :)

Is week one Sept. 3rd?
Do the Johnnies also have week 3 open or as a bye week?
Here's what d3football shows for open dates:
https://www.d3football.com/opendates/2022/index

Week 2
Brockport
East Texas Baptist
Hardin-Simmons
Howard Payne
Mary Hardin-Baylor
St. John Fisher
UW-Eau Claire

UWEC is the easy answer. ETBU or HS would probably be game. SJU probably doesn't want UMHB. Maybe SJF would be open if everything else fell through.

Could you imagine SJU tackling both UWW and UMHB as Non-con opponents  :o

Sounds like recent Bethel Grad and former DB Tavian Swanson is now on deployment with the Navy in Bahrain.

Oz, I'm going back and forth on if I should ask you to give him advice for his time in the Navy  :o ;)

Former Carleton coach. Good for him: https://twitter.com/CarletonFB/status/1484303326841872385?s=20

I'm still not sure what "keep stackin'" means.  ???

I always assumed it was a reference to pancakes  ;D

Why not just call them no-contests?  I don't understand why they are making a team forfeit.
Baseball reschedules games due to weather every season, seems odd they're not even trying to reschedule.

Sounds like they heard you! MIAC moving to make COVID cancellations 'no contest' results instead of forfeits.

This should have been the policy from the start. The voices in favor of forfeits changed their tune once they realized it was a policy that was likely to affect results for almost all teams at some point.

Some dude has currently climbed the aerial lift bridge in Duluth and won't come down. Live cam shows a bunch of police cars but I cannot make out the guy. Media staging area set up in Grandma's parking lot lol.
If they wait awhile he's going to freeze and come down one way or the other. People living on Park Point can't get in or out right now.

Update: they got him down. https://www.wdio.com/news/aerial-lift-bridge-closed-unauthorized-person/6357973/

I was wondering what TDT was up to lately.

Man, poor Bartch. He’s got the Rona AND plays for the Jags. There was a big kerfuffle in the news here yesterday about a woman in Israel who simultaneously had mild cases of rona and influenza, flurona they called it. You need to be a six six man-mountain to clear jagrona.

With Urban Meyer gone I guess Rona is worse than playing for the Jags.  Before Meyer was gone?  Tough call.

It would be great if Bartch could talk publicly one day about the differences between a pro team (his in particular) and SJU.  Or similarities, but I expect most of the fun talk to be about the differences.  I'm sure he's telling coaches and friends but it would be interesting for us, the great unwashed, to hear as well.

I imagine that'd be good table talk at an alumni dinner. I think about the only similarity in coaches is the penchant to pop a blood vessel on occasion. Haven't seen any Record articles about Gary hanging with the coeds at Sal's or swinging a leg at a kicker.

I'd want details on D3/SJU vs. Pro Team vs. Urban Meyer team. Urban is so sketchy ...

Hazz, this site is not about apologizing for over-the-top hot takes and rants!  Please refrain from it in the future.

Should he apologize for his apology?

My head hurts...
