So. Are we close enough to the season to start speculating whether or not Lewandowski has figured it out in the off-season and is being handed the reins to the Warhawk offense?

Lew has had a great off season, but some others have made some strides as well. Chryst and Ceniti are really, really talented football players.  Ty Poorman, a Florida Mr. Football Finalist a few years ago, is back after sitting out last season. The room is stacked.  But Lew will begin as QB1.

The cool thing is that there are a lot of good friendships in that room. These guys have a lot of fun competing with each other.

Good to hear Ty is back, wasn’t sure what his future was with this program. No shortage of QB depth this year. Wow!

That's for sure.  On a side note, Lewandowski's high school teammate at Lake Zurich, IL, wide receiver James Piggott, has transferred to UW-W after two seasons at the University of Indianapolis.

That Lake Zurich team had some talent. Jack Sanborn was on the team and he just finished with the Badgers- playing linebacker.

Yup, he had a very good preseason game for the Bears the other day. Turned a lot of heads

Michael Zweifel named co-defensive coordinator and d-backs coach at UWL.

I always found it interesting when players, who go onto coaching, sometimes over see positions they didn’t play. Now if he was the WR coach, then that would make perfect sense.

I suspect it is that they can better identify with the struggles of those in other positions.

In baseball, all-star players rarely make good managers.  It is the marginal players who star as managers.  All-star players just can't seem to identify with players who can't do what they found so easy to do.

Wasn’t Michael an all-American?  ;)

Win all 3 of those would be a tall task. 2 maybe.

Oh boy, this puts even more pressure on the Hawks to win their conference now.

8
So did SJU and the Hawks get moved? Or did MHB replace them?

 Finals, baby!!!!

What a finish in Whitewater!!!  :o

So what ever happened to the Poorman brothers?  I know they went up to Whitewater, but are they still there?  Didn't see them on the roster.  I know Luke seemed like a genuine guy when he came down to UMHB.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I heard grades were an issue.

Annapolis?!
By all means, have the Stagg a little farther from the Willamette Valley, say north of Boston somewhere.

Nobody has ever told me that anyone in the PNW has put in a bid to host the Stagg. Is there interest?

That will just make an unnecessary long trip for either Mount, MHB, UWW or NCC to travel to play in it.  ;)

Looks like the butt hurt is strong with Kira & Jaxon's Dad. Don't be too despondent about being replaced as the premier D3 football program in the nation. You had a great 20+ year run, and all good things must come to an end.

past 5 national champs

2015 - Mount
2016 - UMHB
2017 - Mount
2018 - UMHB
2019 - NCC
2021 - UMHB

we could go back further, but it won't really help your argument.  Congrats on the title, loved watching the Cru absolutely embarrass the one hit wonders from Chicago.  Mount Union is still the premier program, but UMHB are the current kings of D3.  Here's to meeting in the Stagg Bowl for the next 10 years or so
Corrected it for ya

Historically, yes, Mount Union is the standard. I'm talking about the present. We're witnessing a changing of the guard and some (not all) MU fans are just bitter that they're not the automatic Stagg Bowl winner, or even participant, that they think they're entitled to be.

Enjoy your past glory. I'll enjoy the present and future.

that would be more than 5.  Try taking off the other shoe.  2016 doesn't count, we all know that.

It counts in minds of MHB fans…and no where else. Most importantly the history books and NCAA record won’t count it. They Only have their coach to blame for that.
Well, there's video proof that it happened, so the the NCAA and all the jealous runners-up can gaslight and pretend it didn't happen all they want, but facts are facts. 2016, 2018, and 2021 National Champs on the field. The proof:

Yup, proof the game illegally took place.

Deny all you want, doesn’t change the fact it’s gone.
