All-around

Man the Salem State faithful must be angry. 2nd year for this coach who will record one of the worst seasons in SSC history...a year after they go deep into the NCAA tournament!!!

Former MCLA player (now Longwood coach) Mike Gillian, http://www.longwoodlancers.com/staff.aspx?staff=13&path=mbasket, was featured in this week's ESPN Magazine (couldn't find a link however) for a defensive drill he runs in which players keep bricks on their shoulders.  See page 65 of the magazine ...

All-around

Anyone know what happened to Anthony Griffin from Westfield State who didn't come back for 2nd semester?

framinghamhoops

Congrats to Framingham Hoops squad.  They were up 21 and Salem State played as hard as they have all year.  They turned a 21 point deficit to a 68 68 tie.  Framingham then kept it together over last two minutes and went on a 10-2 run to close out game.  Way to keep their collective minds together.  Kudos to Salem State.  They did a great job turning their season around after a bad start in non-conference play.  Framingham will now go up against Bridgewater State at 2PM on Saturday.  Last two games were thrillers that came down to final moments and I expect nothing less from this one.

A cheap plug if you will -

The Worcester Area College Basketball (coaches) Association revived its awards program last year and, for the second consecutive year, is  complimented with a Twitter account - @WACBAHoops https://twitter.com/wacbahoops

The feed features daily news, scores, recaps and more for all nine NCAA men's and women's basketball programs in Worcester County: Anna Maria, Assumption (DII), Becker, Clark, Fitchburg State, Holy Cross (DI), Nichols, WPI and Worcester State.

Matt Noonan (@NoontimeSports), as heard on Hoopsville, selects the weekly men's and women's players of the week and an honor roll for each gender. Along with the weekly release there will be standings and statistical leaders for points, rebounds and assists. Both will are slated to be released on Monday afternoons.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

The big game is over, so now it's time to focus only on basketball. Division III basketball to be exact.

Join Dave and a number of guests on this special Monday edition of Hoopsville. There is plenty to talk about including another crazy weekend of results that will have Top 25 voters scratching their heads and maybe pulling hair off their head as well. Plus, the first regional rankings come out later this week. While predictions are hard, there at least will be some reminding of how this all works.

And maybe even a preview of what this evening's Top 25s look like.

Hoopsville is presented by D3hoops.com and airs from the WBCA/NABC Studio. You can watch the show starting at 2:00 p.m. ET here: http://bit.ly/2FOQ7hX

If you have questions, be sure to email them to hoopsville@d3hoops.com or interact with the show via the social media.

Guests include (in order of appearance):
- Marc Edwards, No. 2 WashU men's coach
- Chris Harvey, Salem State men's coach
- Bill Fenlon, DePauw men's coach (NABC Coach's Corner)
- Caitlin Hadzimichalis, King's women's coach
- Cameron Hill, Trinity (Texas), women's coach
