Elmhurst to go online starting Monday.

Congratulations to Elmhurst and North Central for tremendous seasons.   Wish they would have been able to play it out, but oh well.

Hopefully they will have live stats available for the game.

While it is not official,  Mrs. 79Jaybird is preparing to have her lessons available to teach online. She received an email from the President saying there are some discussions and meetings on how to move forward.   My hunch is that Elmhurst will probably close at some point, the dorms vacated, and classes to be taught in an online fashion.

Great weekend for CCIW hoopsters.  Congrats to both EC/NC.

This is the 2nd time Elmhurst has reached the Sweet 16.   Our 2001 team had a first round bye and advanced to the Sweet 16 before losing to IWU @ UofC   which broke our (student at the time) hearts.

Elmhurst is hosting.   One can look at this two ways  A)  Obviously,  playing at home in front of your fans is great.  There's the comfortability factor  or B) Elmhurst has been road warriors,  and the pessimist would change anything?

IMO- I think it is good Elmhurst has a chance to host.   Rohde continues to be the hot hand.

Elmhurst with a strong 2nd half push,  up by 20 with 4:21 left.  Baines starting to empty the bench.

Glad to see they will be able to advance.

Appears it's 39-32 Elmhurst at the half.  The Bluejays had a larger lead and Lycoming chipped away.

EC going to need a strong 2nd half to win this one.

Good luck to both EC/NC.  Hope to see both advance past opening weekend.

Agree. It's tough to beat a quality opponent two times in 1 year.

Oh sheesh! If facility maintenance issues are to blame,  that would really suck for the athletes.

while the last 10 years or so have seen many nice upgrades with EC facilities,  they do have to contend with aging facilities.  They are also very land locked which doesn't help if/when they were to get a Philanthropist who had some great ideas....

Thank you for the insight.  Hopefully it is NOT because Elmhurst Admin didn't put in a request.  I would really feel terrible for the team if that was the case.

Also, most of Elmhurst fans are in the Tri-State area (IL/WI/IN) so traveling to OH would be a challenge.

Interesting the Pool A rep has to travel yet the Pool C rep gets to host?

once into the NCAA's you have to assume every team is  worthy opponent.

Solid win for Elmhurst last night.   Hoping last night's win punches their ticket to the big dance, but know anything/everything could (and does) happen over the years.

Elmhurst is going to need Lavon to be a force Saturday.  Their last trip to N-Ville was a No show from a Jays standpoint.  Things could unravel quickly if the Jays aren't ready to play at the tip off.

I actually think matching up vs. Wheaton is a better fit for Elmhurst than Carthage.  At 20-5 a win over the Thunder would make them 21-5 and worse case scenario,  the Jays would be 21-6.  Pretty solid resume to get a Pool C.

Elmhurst is breathing a sigh of relief.  With their stumbles the latter half of the season,  they still have a good shot to make the big dance.

When we beat national ranked Wheaton 22-16 we rang that bell all night to the point when campus security escorted us back to our dorms.

I like the bell, but IMO always felt just a few times would have sufficed.  But to have everybody & their brother who wanted to yank the rope do it,  it did become a little annoying.
