Men's soccer / MIAC 2016

Gustavus played their first preseason game yesterday, 5-1 win over NAIA Viterbo. Admittedly not the strongest opponent, but a convincing win none the less.

GAC looks to be a very young squad this year - only 2 seniors and 5 Juniors on the varsity roster. They look to have brought in a strong recruiting class wth several freshman seeing significant minutes last night.

The non-conference schedule appears to be a notxh or two stronger from last season, so hopefully the boys will be better prepared for the grueling conference fixtures.

How are the rest of the MIAC teams shaping up?

Thought it would be interesting to see what people are thinking with respect to the North Region as a whole.

The NSCAA's most recent regional rankings look pretty solid. Although Wartbug beat Loras last week, I'd probably give the nod to Loras as #2.

1. UW Oshkosh
2. Wartburg
3. Loras
4 Gustavus
5. St. Thomas
6. UW Whitewater
7. St. Olaf
8. Carleton
9. Augsburg
10. Luther

Men's soccer / MIAC 2012

With the start of the season only a week away, I figured it was time to get the new MIAC thread going for this year.

Coach's Poll and Pre-Season notes were released yesterday.

In order: St. Olaf, Gustavus, CarlEton and Augsburg round out the Coach's top 4.

Should be another exciting and highly competitive year. Anyone up North with some insight into how the teams are looking? Any new Freshman that are going to make a splash in the conference this year?

GAC is looking TOUGH, back to the form of old...only with more offensive fire power. 12 Goals in 3 games, with 0 allowed. Mark Adams and Justin Eglseder are the real deal...

Should be a challenging road trip out west for the Gusties this weekend with UCSC and Cal Lutheran on the schedule.
