Is this in Minnesota somewhere? You'll have to excuse me, I live in Ohio and went to Mount Union.
HS football is being played around here. Just curious. Thanks! Stay safe. 🏈 😷 ⁉️

No Mount Union people posting. Everyone must be watching the 2007 playoff game between the Raiders and St. John Fisher. Rah! 💤 ‼️

MUC57- I loved your post - and thank you for serving this country.
Your ideas for alternative places to protest (which I think we all agree is a protected right) are excellent. I remain confused as to why some feel protests/kneeling must occur during the national anthem. There are better ways to protest that would result in garnering greater support from Americans of all opinions/beliefs.

Thanks very much! As you mentioned, why kneel during the national anthem?
We're probably stuck with this for awhile.

Stay safe and stay well. Go Warhawks! Go Raiders! 🍺 😷

They aren't pretending. The NFL is fully aware that many fans (and some players) are insulted.

+1 to bleedpurple. I'd prefer these boards to be mostly free of politics. We'll all get plenty of that stuff over the next 2 months.

d-train

I totally agree with you. I merely responded to Mr. Ypsi and his post. Couldn't let him get away with that!
Stay well. Let's talk football. Yeah! 🏈 🍺 ‼️

Obviously, we have folks in our D-III community that are all over the board in terms of their political leanings. I'm a big First Amendment guy, so I would never presume to tell someone else how to post. So, this is simply a suggestion that may help us:

Maybe we could try to stay away from politics on the boards as much as possible. Emotions are running really high on both sides right now. This could be a great refuge from the craziness that is 2020 if we preserve it.  Again, just MHO.

I hope and pray everyone is healthy and doing well. Stay safe and stay thankful!

Good post, bleedpurple. I just had to respond to Mr. Ypsi. Go Warhawks!

As far as the NFL is concerned...I will not watch on second of their season as long as they pretend that kneeling on the flag is not unpatriotic and doesn't insult millions of fans.

YOU are unpatriotic.  No one is 'kneeling on the flag' - they are protesting police brutality.  To object the way you are to peaceful protest is anti-American.  Try reading the Constitution instead of just listening to Trump speeches.

Mr. Ypsi

First, let me assure you i am not unpatriotic. I was in the U. S. Air Force, assigned to The Pentagon as a member of Air Force Intelligence. I am currently involved with several veterans groups. Hope that meets your approval!

They are NOT  in fact  kneeling on the flag. They are however; kneeling on the very heart and soul of this great Republic -flaws and all!.You say they are " protesting police brutality ". How do you know that? Nothing in the act of kneeling tells me that. Oh, you say, but that's what it always meant. I think it's a mistake to equate any protest with kneeling during the National Anthem.

I am not anti-protest. But, if you want to protest police brutality, go to a police station. Or go to a meeting of The Fraternal Order of Police. Or go to any organized meeting of law enforcement personnel. Then I would know for sure what is being protested. (And there are certainly grounds for a protest)

And I HAVE read the Constitution. My Air Force service was to help protect it! Didn't need to listen to a Trump speech, a Biden speech or a speech by anyone else. Your statement was blatantly absurd.

I hope you won't  object to my peaceful protest as anti-American. I am a Patriot, an American and a proud Air Force veteran!
God Bless America! 🇺🇸

OzJohnnie

WOW! I've seen science-fiction movies like that. But, that can't happen in real life. Only in the movies.
Thank goodness that couldn't occur anywhere on earth. Imagine!
Great story, Oz. Whar a vivid imagination. We know that can't be real. Too extreme! Must be fake.

OR IS IT? 🇦🇺 🔫 ⚰

Hi, old buddy. Good to hear from you again. Hope you and big brother are doing well.
And UMU-JCU will resume in March of 2021. Those are always fun games.
Who follows the White Sox? Ok, people in Chicago. What about the Cubs?
Am making some trips to the Cleveland Clinic. As I travel down Cedar, I honk when I cross Belvoir. Kind of a tribute to John Carroll. Best I can do, for now.
Stay safe and stay well. Oh, what the hell - Go Bluestreaks! (Raiders too) 🏈 😷 🍺
