Awful news about Hudnut, would agree Colby struggle to make the NESCAC tournament now.  Anyone know a projected return of Sabety?  I watched Tufts lose to Bates when he was clearly their best player so imagine that hurts too.  Some pretty high profile injuries in the league this year.

What happened to Sabety Hoop Master?

Bates 77 UMaine-Farmington 64

Safford did not dress for the game and the rest of the starters seems to split plenty of time with bench guys for the Bobcats.  Mike Boornazian the best player on the floor and having a fine season.

The Beavers have had some pretty strong teams in recent years, but seem to be having a seriously down year.

Is "no love" going to be the term about everyone not named?  To type every good player and coach would be a pretty exhaustive list  ;)

To steal off another thread's idea.  What are people's thoughts on these categories?  My thoughts below.

Best Team:  Trinity (defensive work ethic is top end)

Best Coach:  James Cosgrove (the above can be tough to achieve with today's kids)

Best Player:  Dylan Sinnickson (Midd)

Best Point Guard:  Graham Safford (Bates)

Best Low-Post Scorer:  Dylan Sinnickson (Midd) or Hunter Sabety (Tufts)

Best Shooter:  Luke Westman (Colby)

Best Dunker:  Marcus Delpeche (Bates)

Best Defender:  Johnny McCarthy (Amherst)

As in 2013, Trinity got off to a good start and tailed off later in the season.  An early win over Colby and late upset over Wesleyan stood out as their only NESCAC wins.  This seems to me a program on the slide, and it seems a long time ago they made the NESCAC final and Pilger named coach of the year.

Lose their best player in Tim Shea, but return two impact sophomores in Cody Savonen (CF) and Tobias Gimand (CM).  As mentioned they, have seem to have fallen below the top tier, and I would not be surprised to see them miss the playoffs again.

The injury is certainly a valid point and could explain things.

No.  Hewas behind Sinickson, Brown, Merryman and Daley for me, so fifth on his own team.  Making him not quite the rising star and future AA touted.  Good player for sure, but there are many better all over the league.

Little bit of a Midd lean there no Bucket?  Lin 4-14 noted but St. Amour 0-7 omitted?  17 points and 9 assists for Lin a very respectable showing.

As for Sinickson, amazing performance.

I watched the webcast and actually thought Lin played pretty well, consistent points and assists.  Sinnickson was an absolute monster at both ends of the floor.  Second game I have watched, and just not seeing it from St. Amour to justify the hype I heard.  Midd's 4th or 5th best player.

Looks like Hamilton and Conn are falling off, but everyone else in the hunt right now.

Went to Bates v Wesleyan tonight, snow pretty bad and parking a nightmare, wonderful game though.  8 point game but was liv right until the last minute until free throws put a sheen on the margin for Bates.

Some magnificent 3 point shooting down the stretch with Jack Mackey bringing Wes close, and Safford twice landing to keep the Bates lead.  31 points for Safford, and great rebounding from the Delpeche twins.  While not the best player, Wesleyan's BJ Davis is exciting and I am guessing the fastest player in the league.

Conn driving in after loss to Tufts, and a likely 2nd W of the weekend of Bates tomorrow.  A family commitment will keep me away from game.

Trinity/Bowdoin looks like game of the night.

With credit to JayHawk, this was on the BB boards and seems many here would enjoy.  Former Midd kicker profiled in SB preview;
