I also want to comment on the D3 Play of the Week. Frostburg's fake punt late in the game "sealed the deal" in their upset win vs. Wittenberg. A play labeled " Gutsy...just gutsy". It was a risky call because if it failed Wittenburg would have had a short field down only 21-7 with 7 minutes remaining.

It brings to mind the "gutsiest" play I remember from some years back and Bartman maybe you remember this. Hobart at Union. As I recall under 2 minutes left Hobart 4th and 12 from it's own 2 yard line. Hobart lead by, I think, 5 points. Union calls time out to conserve clock thinking they will have a short field with a chance to win the game. Then it happened...coach Cragg calls for a fake punt and a flatfooted Union team gives up a first down. Hobart then runs out the clock for the win. WHAT??? you might say... a fake punt from the 2 leading the game! As it turned out it was brilliant. Coach Cragg obviously thought, give Union a short field we lose. We must keep possession to win the game. It brings to mind the Herm Edwards quote..."you play to win the game"!
Ufan,
I remember the play but thanks to ITH, I checked the game play by play for exact details....12 minutes left 4th and Long from the one and Hobart behind 27-24, Riverboat Gambler Cragg calls a fake punt and Dan Suozzi(punter, punt returner and top WR) runs it for a first down....Hobart goes on and kicks a field goal on that drive  to tie the game and win in OT...much better result than this year's game...I don't know anyone that would have called a fake punt at that point  in the game from the ONE ...it ended up being pure genius...he called the same play last year in the Mount Union game with Rio Schmidt but it was from mid field....same result and almost made a difference in the game .....Cragg has large spheres, for sure

Man that was some seriously crazy **** that went on in Delaware. Honestly dlip is just so pumped the Bombers took the game over and came out with the win. dlip would have ****ing loved to have been there. He would have dressed up as a ****ing Bomber (whatever that looks like) with a dead bloody seagull on a noose and started running around the stands going ape ****...actually he would never do that but it would be funny...by the way happy Thanksgiving to both Seagull and Bombers fans.

eh....I think dlip would have been clotheslined by one or more pissed Salisbury fans.  Remember, the Ithaca and Salisbury fans were all sitting amongst each other, thus the nastiness that was......  You would not have fared well my friend.  ;)

Dlip has a vivid imagination ....the dead bloody seagull routine may be a bit overboard....but effective for the WWE ,I would think :D

A HUGE congratulations to all these student athletes. They have my admiration. I'm not sure why Union is not represented on this list. Surely they had players that qualified(?) My speculation is that somehow the ball was dropped in submitting eligible candidates. maybe because Union is on a tri-mester grading system or the shakeup in the SID.
To see the complete list of CoSIDA Football Academic All Americans go to http://cosida.com/documents/2017/11/16//Acad_Football_2017.pdf?id=2495 ...Some familiar names there.
