So how is the other teams in the NEAC look.  I know Keuka and Caz should be good again.  Did  you hear Caz got that girl Tiff Trent back.  She lead the nation in scoring two years ago, plus they got there leading scorer from last year.  They should do good.     So just wondering how everyone else is doing

The Polytechnic Fighting Blue Jays picked up their first win tonight, 58-56, @ Medgar Evers in Brooklyn. Freshman Jacquelyn Calandriello had 14 points and 20 rebounds, junior Marcy DeSio had 15 points, and junior Sarah Walter added 10.

Poly (1-1, 0-1 NEAC) will head to Rochester this weekend to face St. John Fisher in the Ramada Women's Tournament.

Keystone beats Polytechnic 89-8 last night.  Wow, that deserves a round of applause.  Eight points!?

Off the Keuka web site...

The Keuka College women's basketball team will open its 2005-06 season by scrimmaging the Lady Bonnies of St. Bonaventure University on Nov. 11, at 5 pm at the Reilly Center. This game will mark the second straight season that Keuka has opened its season with an exhibition game against former Keuka standout Jim Crowley and his Lady Bonnies.  Crowley played under head coach Dave Sweet at Keuka for four years, earning a bachelor's degree in 1993.  Crowley then coached the Lady Storm from 1993-96.

Tickets to the game are $5 and will begin selling on Oct. 24 at the St. Bonaventure ticket office (716-375-2500).

Congratulations to the D'Youville Lady Spartan's, who, by virtue of a 72-60 victory this afternoon over Keystone State in the NEAC Conference Final, have become the first team to represent the NEAC as an automatic berth in the NCAA D3 Tournament.

The NEAC tournament was well played, in my eyes, and indeed I feel that D'Youville, Keuka, or Keystone could have potentially walked away with the tournament if a few shots had fallen differently or a few calls had gone the other way.

Here's to the NEAC, and hopefully many solid years of NCAA tournament representation!
