I understand the animus against BW but purely on a football level:  I think BW might be on the way up, given the past success of its head coach.

I don't play the Pick-'Ems (for the simple reason that I don't know what I'm talking about).  If I did, however, I think I'd go for the under.

All right!  I am now 1-0 in Pick-'ems.  (Even if I did use the wrong terminology.)

I hereby retire, undefeated.

(Please, hold your applause.)

Mount came out and went right to their sideline while BW came running through their band tunnel, got to the 50, stopped, started taunting the UMU sideline. Some players went past the hash marks jawing at the team... Not a good way to start

I will say that this is the best BW team I've seen in awhile. They could challenge JCU for the 2 spot in the OAC. More talent and good play calling will do wonders!

The "incident" is available on the Video of the game.  Link is on the BWU Football website:  MTU vs BWU  Drag the slider to the 18 minute mark.

From the Twitter descriptions, I thought the whole team went to the MTU sidelines. In reality, the team ran out through the "tunnel" the BWU Band made.  Ran to the 50.  For the most part stayed between the hashes.  There was some taunting towards the MTU sidelines, but nothing over the top that I saw.  I'm not saying it was a smart move on BWU, but at least they were fired up and confident.

It was stupid. It was a lack of discipline and stupid. Period. Look bw (you get caps when you earn it) here is the run down:
You have not beaten Mount since 1994.
You have not beaten Mount at home since 1991.
Most of those games have not been close.
Most of those games you didn't show up - at all.

This bw team is good. They have talent and speed and a damn good QB. And they will go nowhere and do nothing if they can't compete mentally. Why are you taunting? Seriously. Why? Because you made it to the stadium on time? Because you had the correct uniform on? Because you needed to "get up" for the game? You have a good team that had a chance coming in - if that doesn't get you up for the game then nothing will. Maybe you thought you would "throw Mount off their game". Really? You have tried this in the past and it didn't work. Why would this? Mount has now won 131 straight regular season road games. Why? Because they don't get thrown off their game.

The "incident" was started by one player (I will look at the video again later and give a number). He had Lou Berry braids hanging out of his helmet. He was all the way to hashmarks and hopping about 20 yards downfield taunting. The others were behind him but no less vocal. The WR that got tossed (and he was a beast) for taunting decided to put up 2 fingers (and turned to show them to the DB) as he was running to the endzone. He got tossed because the entire team was assessed an unsportsmanlike penalty for the pre-game. Those 2 players cost bw a shot. If I am coach - they don't play next game. They put themselves above the team. The coach needs to rein this team in so they don't blow the time they have left. My .02 cents.

#1 - he is the one that went straight to their side and took helmet off. Also #12, 10, 72 and 22. 72 was about 10 feet past the hashmarks.

His final stats were much better - 0/3 1 int. Wait never mind. That isn't better at all.

Definitely not smart when you're about to get thumped by 5 scores like usual, but I agree...after watching it I didn't think it was over the top based on what I expected from reading it on twitter.  It definitely bit them in the a$$ when it cost them an ejection.

This is what I was thinking as well.  Things are going to get very interesting with this resurgence in Berea and I think it's a certainty that they're improving each year now.  It almost seems to be trending toward a return to the days where BW/JCU/ONU are that next tier.  Ott looks awful.  Berg I question what they're going to do in the post-Hallett era.  I just don't see them keeping up consistently.  Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Etta passes up Berg and Ott soon.  Waddle is doing a nice job down on the river.  They graduate Roger Walker and just plug another stud in at RB.
