So according to mount’s equipment twitter they are breaking out the white helmets this weekend and going with an all white look against bw. Anyone else find it strange that they are debuting alt helmets helmets at an away game?

I am Ok with it. I only go to home games I get the alt look trend - but I still say "you are the PURPLE Raiders". Not the Matte Black Raiders, not the Raiders, not the Grey Raiders (still don't care for the gray uni thing), not the White Raiders (Wow. That would be a PR nightmare!) - Purple. The Purple Raiders - embrace the PURPLE!

Now I would be okay with the some throwback uniforms circa Kmic or Moore. The "cut" would have to be adapted to the newer style of tight fitting etc..but the colors on those were the best. Not that I want this to turn into a fashion forum-

Agree, while I like black as an accent color I was so dissapointed in the all black look for the Stagg last year. Also I don’t think grey works with the color scheme at all.

That being said I’m sure the variety of uniforms is a strong recruiting tool and having alternate helmets is a luxury most d3 or even d2 teams don’t have. Guess I shouldn’t complain ha.

My favorite uni is the white pants and purple tops.  I can do without the white helmets, however, the "keep up with the Joneses" and keep the players happy has been a boon in sales for the equipment and uniform companies.  Blame it on Oregon and NIKE, they started it.

Sorry the all Purple unis are the best! Followed by the Black top (the old Black tops!) with Purple Pants.

Those are my least favorite aside from the grays.  I'm too much of a stickler to get past the helmet being a different shade of purple than the rest of the uniform.  That drives me crazy.  Now if we compromised and you let me have the white helmet with purple jersey/pants I think we have a deal!

We need to be glass half full.  I would have thought the traditionalists would be happy with today's uniform since it is all white and purple.  The only trace of black is the outline of the number.  I don't mind any of the alternative stuff.  It's what the players want and if the white helmets mean they beat BW 56-0 instead of 49-7 then those are my favorite helmets!

If they wear the white helmets, will they use black skull and cross bone stickers on them? The white probably wouldn't show up. Stay with the purple helmets!
I also didn't like the all black look in the Stagg Bowl. And the gray has got to go. Our colors are purple and white. All purple is pretty sharp, IMHO. Go "PURPLE" Raiders! ☠🏈
Also, on the white helmets, it's hard to see the "RAIDERS" on the sides. As some one pointed out earlier, the white helmets with the purple jerseys and white pants and we look just like Linfield. Let's be Mount Union! ☠🏈

What are we...Marietta? The alt unis...meh. What if the white unis and helmets have a Samson effect? Without the Purple lid the strength is sapped and Mount lo....I can't type that.

I know LK had no love lost for BW that was fueled over the years by various incidents with one being a cheap shot from behind that injured his nephew Erik Raeburn late in a BW game.

I wonder if Vince has similar feelings and keeps the metal to the pedal a bit a tad longer today.
