I would not count on Monmouth getting ranked. Last year they beat Wartburg and snuck in late til they choked late possibly costing Wheaton a bid.

I don’t get how Wartburg beating Central opens a 1 seed?

I would guess StJ to go to a Wheaton bracket as #2 with NCC going West and maybe hosting Bethel in round 1. Wouldn’t that be neat? It would be easy to do this avoiding rematches for both teams.

I would guess Wheatons Sos will end up around .560 and they will stay about .30 above Muhl and .60+ above Salisbury. Wheaton gets a slight boost this week from Carthage and a bump from the UWO game as well as rest of WIAC. The. They will fall about .40 the last week vs Elmhurst.

Again, Carthage is talented enough to beat Wheaton so they better be ready.

I think it's really difficult to see St. John's as a #2 seed in any quadrant of the bracket when they are ranked 5th in their own region.

This brings up an interesting question that I have seen addressed another way but bears revisiting.  Does the order of seed by the RAC affect Pool C selections? Obviously if you are behind another team in your own region you will be at the table late, if at all. But NCC, who will be ranked 3rd presumably by the North RAC, will have potentially lower criteria than other pool C teams (Bethel for instance) who may pop up at the table later. Does the fact that the North has NCC as their 3rd ranked team affect the National committees selection of them over say, a 7th ranked team in another region that gets to the table and might have similar or slightly better criteria?

In the past I have seen the described by Pat and others as "table creep" (my word for a lack of a better term) where a team at the table for multiple rounds ends up selected because they just wear the committee out with their presence. But I wonder if in round 1, 2 or 3, a teams relative ranking affects their selection order? Not sure if I described that well and it may not be a "thing".

It is not supposed to. I would have to say, though, I suspect that it has happened, but not in an instance where we have so few at-large bids, such as football.

If I were picking Pool C's today based on the data we have through Week 9, I would select Redlands (4W) first in front of Wesley (2E), North Central (3N) or Susquehanna (4S).

You going full Lou Holtz?  Not a chance Wheaton doesn’t walk over Carthage.

Probably would have said that last week about Concordia going up to St Johns. Carthage is good enough to win I assure you. Wheaton is better, but if they play as poorly as they did early at Carroll, it won’t go well.

The running game schemes Carthage tries to run will not go well against the Wheaton defensive front.  Throw in the inability to throw the football with any type of consistency and it shapes up to be a long day for the Redmen.

North Park hosts Elmhurst with the two teams having a combined scoring differential against their CCIW opponents at 664-118.  Inexplicably, NPU has allowed only six more points than EC (seven games each).

North Park 38
Elmhurst 14

Enough with this crap about NPU's 2019 edition being the worst football team anybody's ever seen. The Vikings aren't even the worst team in this league.

Great performance today by the Vikes on Senior Day.

I watched (on line) most of the second half and the Vikings played really well, capitalizing on two huge Elmhurst turnovers.  They mixed up the play calling with runs and some nice catch-and-run plays. I'm very happy for the Viking players, coaches, and fans.

Very curious what Wash U’s loss to Millikin does to NCC in the pool C convo as they’ll now have no wins over RRO’s.
