My favorite is not a particular game but rather a bit of Ad History:
One Monday morning... My Dad, in his 70's at the time, promptly went home, picked up his electric sander and went to Maxwell Field.  After many weeks of hand sanding and refinishing all the benches of the entire stadium the job was complete.

Wildcat'64:
Your telling of this experience brought tears to my eyes.
After reading it, I got the impression it was more of a bit of your dad's history than Ad's. Your father must have been a very special man.

I just read the "Around the Nation" column on the front page.  It made me prouder than ever to be a Linfield grad and lifetime Wildcat.

My most memorable football moments at Linfield occured in the fall of 1982 when I arrived at Linfield as a transfer student from Southern California.  I didn't know anyone on campus and found myself assigned to Mac Hall.  Feeling somewhat homesick and out of place, I took to studying (got good grades!).

Well, after just a few weeks, on a Saturday I heard a commotion throughout the Mac Hall dorm and went out of my cave to investigate.  About 15 students from Mac Hall were gathering to head over to Maxwell field to watch the game.  They welcomed me and all others who wanted to go.  We all sat together and watched the Cats win.  They kept winning all season and I thought....."Winning feels good".  I spent 2 years as a student at Linfield watching the Wildcats win games and an NAIA championship, graduated, and made lots of friends with students and professors.

Ten years ago I moved my family to the Pacific Northwest and attend several Linfield games each season.  I was walking the sidelines last Saturday vs. Hardin-Simmons.

Go Linfield!

Lever Street:
Awesome post!
Reading all these stories, no matter how varied they are, brings me to one conclusion. How much we all love Linfield College and the Wildcats football program. So many students, players, coaches, family members, and friends have passed through the Catdome over the years , but the one constant , the one thing that binds us together, is the fondness we each have for the memories and the experiences we have shared together at Maxwell Field.

Wouldn't it be an awesome thing to have these memories and others published in the Game Day program or next years media guide? Perhaps all at once in a special section or print them out a few at a time throughout the season.

THE CATDOME LIVES!

WOW,
The stories are part of what makes Linfield................. Linfield.

I enjoy every Game as if it's going to be a memorable one. The last home game I sat and thought for a minute how lucky I was to be watching the Wildcats play. We get used to High 5 ing each other in our sections, and for a few hours each week, talk, joke and laugh with people we only see at the Games.

I then looked around and thought of all the people I miss at the games who, as Wildcat'64 said , have gone to watch at the Catdome in the sky. They will never be forgotten.

Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!

You can WATCH the Whitworth/Stout game live by going to the Whitworth site.  Sure nice to have these schools that are streaming their games live.
