Big DV's thanks for the input.  We did have problems at TE last year with a number of injuries that led to a FR playing the last couple of key games plus playoffs.  The upside is that Bobal and Marsh should be well prepared this year.  It worries me when you tell me that a 230 lb kid at 6'3" or so is too slow to play DE, though.

He can be quick (Tamarac adjusted and moved him to NT in the second half), but he didnt make any plays that he shouldnt have made which tends to be a sign that someone has better then average speed.

Anyone have any other Section II recruits going to Union, RPI, Hobart or anywhere in the Liberty League?

Mussina should go in with an Oriole hat on.

Jeter's overrated.  Unless you are comparing him with Luis Aparacio or Nellie Fox.

Yankees SUCK.

Nah.  He's one of the best. Consistency and clutch. First ballot.  Griffey is another guy that one must appreciate as a non-druggie.

Derek Jeter

12 Seasons AL Top 15 in Hits (7 years in the top 4)
From 1996-2001 had the most hits in the majors
Most hits, runs, and total bases in post season history, while batting .309 with 17 HR's and 49 RBI

Jeter's MAJOR statistics are his clutch performances and post-season performances.  I think Schilling should get in based on his post-season and clutch performances as well.  The Hall of Fame has gotten too reliant on career numbers rather than the mark you made on the game of baseball.

Who do you guys think the Hall of Famer is that Canseco is talking about?  My thought...maybe Cal Ripken Jr?

dlip...my gripe with your post is if they made $30K/year, they probably wouldn't care so much, but when you had all this pressure, and millions and millions of dollars for being the best, some went and made bad decisions.  I don't think it is right, BUT, it was not banned in MLB, and when Camminiti said most of the players in the league were on the juice, no one listened, but now he probably wasn't far off.

I think the 'anonymous' tests coming out is BS.  Most of those guys took the test willingly BECAUSE it was anonymous, and now they are getting bit by it.  Someone is toying around with MLB, at this rate, release the entire list and stop name dropping every few months to ruin specific guys.  It is a witch hunt.

Some are also saying that players volunteered to be marked as a positive test because they had to have a certain percentage test positive to introduce testing at the Major League Level.  Not sure this is true, but there was an outcry for testing by the Glavine's etc when the issue first came up in the early 2000s.

I agree... whoever is leaking these names (supposed to be sealed correct?) is further damaging the game.

My question is... when they did this testing... it was supposed to be anonymous.  Those vials shouldn't even have the team name written on them.  How is all this possible if it was supposed to be anonymous?

When the first names were linked, I think I remember them saying that the vials were numbered and someone got a hold of the list that linked the numbers to the names.

Good idea (doesn't include any no-name strange). This is what truly makes Jeter a genius.  He's the single, good looking SS of the Yankees, and he's using that status in HOF fashion.  He didn't do something stupid like get married.  He can do that when he's 40 something and retired:

Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta

Singer Joy Enriquez

Actress Jordana Brewster

Scarlett Johansson

Gabrielle Union

Jessica Alba

Supermodel Adriana Lima

MTV Babe Vanessa Minillo

Jessica Biel

Minka Kelly

I'd put Jeter in the HOF for Brewster and Biel (LOVE those two).

Postseason records are pointless.  Wouldn't Mickey Mantle, Ruth or Gherig slaughteres those records if they had three rounds of playoffs?  Divisional series started in 93.
