JT is breathing easier this AM. Had 400 euro ($600 US) bought on ebay from Portugal hung up in customs at JFK since 10/25. Received this morning. Purchase had refund guarenteed by Paypal, but a refund request would have tied up JT's cash until after his Thanksgiving vacation.
+k all around.

Note that IF Hobart files for ECAC consideration, the game between RPI and Hobart will likely be an ECAC Bowl elimination game under present circumstances. This much is true: the loser would have an uphill battle for any consideration with a fourth loss -- it will depend on how many teams drop out due to NCAA/12th game reasons and how many more teams will apply for consideration.
Who said there wasn't any more intrigue in the LL this season.....?

JT: TDT is intrigued. Please explain the Euro scheme to the LLPP...
Dude get the that word outta there fast.
A while back in the LLPP JT told the members that the best place to buy euro for before traveling to Europe is on Ebay. JT has been bidding on euro for about 4 months, and winning about 1 in 10 bids. JT checks the daily exchange rate, and looks for euro to bid on. He has been getting euro at or slightly below the exchange rate w/o having to pay commission to a bank or money exchange.
Key is to subtract any shipping charge from your highest bid, and be willing to buy $1 and $2 euro coins in significant amounts. Don't over bid... these are last minute travelers paying $1.60 per euro when the exchange rate is $1.45.
JT goes to newly listed auctions and will bid on about 300 - 400 euro at a time. Wait for those auctions to end. Pay for the couple of auctions won. Then start the process all over again.
JT will have a good mix of coin and cash when he goes. The key is to start 4 months or more before you go.
Some credit cards now charge a pct on overseas purchases instead of a flat rate. Merchants charge more for credit cards. you can haggle if you have euro.
We are on a cruise but will be staying 3 days in Barcelona. So JT is paying cash for the hotel.
JT is figures the extra effort will save at least $500 - $600 over the course of the trip. Making it almost a $1 for $1 exchange.

Pep contends that D3football.com voters don't have a "traditional" East power, a program that is in the NCAAs year-in and year-out, that is leading the East this season. Were the records switched and Ithaca were 7-0 right now and Alfred 5-3, the Bombers would be right up there. Heck, weren't they as high as #8 early this season? By now, if undefeated, they certainly would have made moves toward the top four or five. Hobart has certainly been there and was getting lots of early season votes. Same could be said for St. John Fisher. . . .
Just some rambling here from Pep....
On Saxon Warriors!
Better yet, if Ithaca and Alfred swapped records, and Ithaca worked out a name-swap with Fisher,
St. Ithaca
would be Top 3, baby!

There is a 6-2 Mississippi College team in front of them that just lost to a 4-4 team in their last game by 14 points!
That has a win against a ranked team. And that's a
currently
ranked team, not a
formerly
ranked team. There's a difference.
Ranked based on WHAT exactly? Mary Hardin-Baylor is 7-1, hasn't beaten anyone of note, and yet is #8. Your comment puts all the weight on the ranking system, which is the point, that many think the ranking system flawed, and especially prone to teams historical results. So defending Mississipi College losing to a 4-4 team and staying in is a case of circular logic.
The other problem is that it is almost impossible for an east team to beat a currently ranked team, because there is only one at #25. Again, circular logic.
Rankings are what they are, and the beauty of DIII is that it all gets settled on the field, but rationalizing why a team that lost to a 4-4 team is ranked above an undefeated Alfred team from a traditionally strong conference, well, that just doesn't fly

could of sworn there was an east team at #20....

A few people who are fans of unranked teams don't like the poll, I get that. Nothing new there. That really, really is not equivalent to what you claim.
I think something else that needs to be remembered is that there are twice as many Division III teams as there are D-I FBS teams, so it's twice as hard for a team to make our poll as it is for one to make the AP or USA Today D-I poll. People's expectations needs to be different.

Jim Nantz has to pay $72,000 in alimony PER MONTH... Who the hell spends that kind of money... in addition he has to pay $1,000 /week in child support for the next two years.

Fair enough than the way the Brackets and/or regions are set up needs to be different and consistent, like consisting of teams in the ****ing regions.
