Oswego claims conference tourney title with 14-4 leveling of Cortland on Saturday afternon at sunny Bob Wallace Field. Earns automatic NCAA tourney invite.
RDragons within 7-4 after scoring four in the eighth. Awakens Laker attack which goes on seven run ninth inning rampage. Oswego already 7-0 leader through seven innings -- bolstered by five-run, seven-hit fourth ignited by M. Dellicarri, J. Barnes doubles. L. Olsson lends two-rbi single to left. Ten Lakers bat.  RDragons finally break through against starter N. Demarco and two relievers for four runs in the bottom of the eighth -- P. Schetter two-run double. Cortland manages just three hits against WP Demarco (3-0, 7inn, 3h, 2bb, 5k, 2hbp, 107pitches) in his second start of the season. Oswego in the ninth ravages four CSt pitchers. E.        Oswego with 15 hits including Z. Whelan three-run home run in the second inning off RDragon starter J. Casey breaks 1-1 tie. First career HR for four-year Laker Whalen -- Cortland High School product who probably opposed neighboring Homer HS product Casey as schoolboys. Whelan drives in five in all. Oswego earlier Saturday stops New Paltz 4-2 and moves into conference tourney championship round against Cortland.

It comes down to Cortland and Oswego for the title. Regardless of the result, I think both teams have done what they've needed to do to make the NCAA tournament.
