Congratulations to Cortland for another great season on the diamond. Lots of returning players next year so I'm sure Coach Brown will have another solid team.

Eric Hamilton of Oswego St. makes collegiate summer baseball's All American as an honorable mention.
Only D3 player I could identify on the list.

Cortland splits opening play Saturday in sunny Ashland VA. RDragons stop Pitt Bradford 18-3 with 20 hit assault before bowing 8-4 to host Randolph Macon's long balls.
         Corts build 17-1 margin through five innings against Pitt-Bradford, striking for seven scores in the second inning including new shortstop B. Rhodes' two-run single. Collect 7 walks, 6hbp in addition to hit bundle. S. Giordano 3x3, 2r, 2bi, 2bh, bb, sb; A. Michalski 3x3, 2r, bi, 2bh, bb, 2sb; Rhodes 2x2, r, 4bi, bb; M. Kraft 2x4, 2r; C. BeVard 3r, 2bb; M. Bruno 2r, 2bi, 2hbp; J. Varian 2r, 2hbp; W. Myers 2bi. Use four young hurlers. Starter S. Mugnolo goes 3.2inn, M. Funk hitless 3.1inn. S. Weyand, K. Taborne follow. Spotless defense by Cortland with 22 players in action.
   Cortland 18-20-0. Pitt Brads 0-2

Cortland outhits Randolph-Macon 11-6 but victimized by pair of early two-out home runs off Z. Durant. Yields No. 9 hitter Z. Evans' three-run clout to left in the second inning and S. Nickles' two-run blast to right in the third. Down 5-0, Dragons tally once in the fifth but R-M immediately answers with two. Corts later get M. Krafft singles for sixth and eighth inning rbi. Just 2x12 with runners in scoring position. A. Michalski 2x3, r, 2bh, bb; A. Pagana 2h, Krafft 2h, 2bi. Durant 3inn, 3h, 5r, 5er, 1bb, 6k. Addition B. Buchan and P. Franzese finish. M. Zubovich WP, 7inn, 7h, 2r, 2er, 1bb, 7k. Cortland 4-11-1, R-M 8-6-1
Cortland 1-1, R-M 4-0. Series concludes between the pair Sunday

Cortland outlasts Salisbury Sea Gulls 10-9 in test of ranked squads in Maryland. RDragons' M. Bruno and D. Coleman tag fourth inning solo home runs helping Corts hold 6-5 lead into the bottom of the seven inning. Gulls use three bases loaded walks and run-scoring wild pitch to seize 9-6 edge before K. Taborne -- fourth pitcher in the inning, quiets things. Dragons immediately answer with four scores in the top of the eighth. S. Kippen pokes two-run double, J. Tardif one-out tying rbi single to center and M. Bruno two-out go-ahead single to left.
Winner Taborne (1.2inn, 1h, 2k) pitches scoreless eighth and S. Roberts the ninth for the save. Cortland sends seven to the mound. Issues 10 walks.  Coleman 3x4, 3r, bi, hr, bb; Bruno 3x5, r, 3bi, 2bh, hr; Tardif 2h, 3bi; J. Varian 2h. Corts 10-14-1, Salisbury 9-12-0
Cortland 4-1, Salisbury 3-1. Play Sunday in Salisbury
