Mlb.com named Old Westbury pitcher Robert Whitenack the No. 13 prospect in the Cubs organization. Whitenack was the only D-III player to make any organization's top 20.

Use the drop menus. MLB does fantastic media packages.

The Diamondbacks recalled Linfield/Oregon State pitcher Joe Paterson. That gives D-III a season-high 11 players in MLB.

The Tigers acquired Frostburg State pitcher Greg Ross as the player to be named for outfielder Jeff Baker. Ross was in the Braves organization.

Changes to the entries on the master list for Texas Tyler's Logan Chitwood, North Park's Mike Giovenco, Birmingham-Southern's Drew Leachman, Marietta's Tim Saunders, Randolph-Macon's Jordan Walton and Wartburg's Brad Watson were due to affiliate changes.

Eastern Mennonite catcher Erik Kratz played a role in a 2012 MiLBY Awards nominee. Kratz started a triple play for Triple-A Lehigh Valley (Phillies).

UW-Whitewater's Rob Coe signed as a pitcher with the Diamondbacks. Coe, a pitcher and catcher at UWW, was a starting pitcher for the St. Paul Saints in 2012. Baseball America named Coe the No. 8 prospect in the independent leagues for the 2012 season.

He didn't play for the D-III version of the program, but Birmingham-Southern pitcher Brandon Hynick (drafted in 2006) signed a MiLB free agent deal with the Angels.
