Another roster has been posted.  Cornell has posted a roster with 16 players.  Twelve of them are Freshman.  The one I recognized is Camille Marie-Lidd.  Saw her play three times last year for Cedar Rapids Washington.  At 6'2" she should help the inside game.  Had another 6'2" girl from California.  Could be one of the tallest teams in conference.

Student assistant Coach Jesse Searls should be an even more valuable asset this year with his experience coaching post players.

The season kind of kicked off without much fanfare.  Wartburg loses to St. Thomas and Cornell to Grinnell.  Both were close games.  Marie-Lidd scored 22 pts.  in her initial outing.  I think she could become a force in this league.  Five games tonight Loras appears to have the toughest foe with Wisc. Whitewater.  GOOD LUCK ALL!

The League went 6-9 over the extended week end.  Central lost two but they were against top ten teams (DePauw and Ill. Wesleyan).  Coe lost to top 20 team Chicago.  As the old saying goes "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Speaking of rated teams Wisconsin White Water eighth in one poll thirteen in another continues its quest of an IIAC title by playing Coe, Buena Vista and Simpson.  Could be 4-0 in the league after already beating Loras.  This is good opportunity for the league to rise up after a 6-9 extended weekend.  Lets hope most if not all can do it.

Comparing scores is one of the worst ways to compare teams, but this may give an indication of the accuracy of the preseason rankings in the league.

Dubuque gets a 2 point win over previously undefeated UW-Platteville.

The TH does a great job of following the local colleges and also former area high school athletes during their college careers.

UW White Water is 4-0 in the conference after beating four of the leagues preseason top five.

I was hoping at least one would rise up and beat them.

Listed the way they were picked in the preseason poll.

1.  Simpson                  70-83
2.  Loras                       75-89
3.  BV (tied with Wart)  68-83
5.  Coe (tied with Lut)   63-69

On the bright side (or spin if you want) Whitewater started 4 seniors, and our teams have more underclassmen.  More room for improvement?

Central women are playing without Andrea Clark, who had the most impressive stats as a returning starter, she is out for the year.  Paulson was lost against Simpson in a game that was much closer than Simpson would have liked and Central just beat Wartburg 72-67.  I didn't have high expectations for the women after last year, but give them credit for playing tough without their best player.

I think there may be more parity in the league than in the last several years.  Cornell, Central, Dubuque, and Coe the bottom four teams last year.  Appear to be improving.

Dubuque took a couple of whoopins last week but they start a freshman and a sophomore.  They will get better!

When Dubuque made the IIAC tourney in Knolls first season, I started to expect to see Dubuque near the top of the conference by now.  I need to remember this is still a young team.

I had noticed that Miss Clark was absent I wish her a speedy recovery.

Speaking of tall women I thought Mindy Meyers had another year at Loras.  Did she graduate?

Small blurb at the end of the article mentioning Jennifer Nichols of UD getting athlete of the week honors from the IIAC.

Dubuque up 46-33 @ the half at Central.

Just turned the Central video stream on.  I'm guessing the weather might have something to do with the crowd.  I count 8 people in the bleachers opposite of the camera Shocked
