Back to the question about which pitcher to start, the game announcer just said that Eastern Conn. State didn't start their ace in hopes of being able to beat Babson without him.  Babson has their ace on the mound and their #2 is warming up in the bullpen in case he is needed to preserve the win.  I'm sure there will be some second guessing going on about this one.

(On the other hand, the ECS starter was 6-1 with a 2.43 era and he was followed up by a reliever with a 2.50 era, so it's not like you would expect those two to give up 9 runs in 1.1 innings.)

I not posting to trash any team, I'm just hoping someone realizes that who ever annointed Cortland the #1 seed may have been a let over jealous.  Rochester played and defeated Cortland.  Some thought it may have been a fluke.  Clarkson shutout Rochester in three games, two of which Austin Pitkin pitched 7 and 9 inning consecutive wins that included the Liberty League tournament win.  Were the Clarkson wins a fluke?  Is Rochester that bad a team?  Is Cortland that bad a team?

Clarkson may suprise many if they keep going.  Their 2nd baseman, Curry, was unanimous choice for First Team Liberty League, Giordano, and several others received recognition.  Clarkson has a good team and has fun playing.  Don't sell them or any Liberty League team short.  Oh, and by the way, don't forget about RPI!!

Can't discount Clarkson to continue their Cinderella run after today's win.
They still haven't thrown any of their top 3 starters or 1 bullpen guy.

St. Thomas vs. Stevens Point is a tough first regional game.
Agreed, hurts both of them to probably have to burn their #1s against each other
This game obviously didn't disappoint, with St. Thomas hitting a walk-off HR in the Bottom of the 17th inning for a 5-4 victory.
