Noticed LaVerne hasn't lost too much of its' step. That squad's made it to the Finals at least twice in the last several years.

ULV had a rough weekend, losing three of four. Hard to imagine the Leos being as good as last year without Brianna Gonzales, who was probably the best OH I saw last year. Crista Jones can't be the only one putting the ball away. We'll find out soon enough if ULV is once again in the national mix. It doesn't get much tougher than the Teri Clemens Invite at Wash U. ULV plays the Nos. 1, 6 and 7 teams in the nation this weekend. My guess is the rankings hold up and ULV goes winless.

All of the traditional West powers ULV, Trinity, Pac Lu, Cal Lutheran, Puget Sound appear to be down a bit. My money is still on Southwestern despite its own iffy start. Upstarts UT-Dallas and Austin are intriguing though.

WLCALUM83:
Pacific Lutheran's record is deceptive in that that squad has already played a boatload of ranked opponents.

WLCALUM83:
LaVerne's website indicates that squad lost to 3 nationally ranked oppenents 9/18-19/

In contrast, Pacific Lutheran goes 2-0, defeating George Fox and Pacific-OR

I just wanted to say the Women's Volleyball is one of the most exciting college sports there is. Non-stop action and lots of fun. I was a fan when I went to San Jose State, and now I root for Redlands. Great job ladies!
