There are things of more import going on tonight, but if you get a chance, check out the newly published Elmhurst Regional Guide and St. Thomas Regional Guide at the blog.

If you find them useful, tell a friend.

Heard  the following teams got upset or eliminated in their respective tourneys thus far:

ASC:  #1 UT-Dallas
OAC:  ranked Otterbein
ODAC:  #2 Randolph-Macon

SCAC;  Colorado College is one match loss away from elimination:

(adds a bit more to the "on the bubble watch")

Some 2013 Bracket Observations:

"Somethin's Gotta Give Right Away Dept."

Ranked vs. Ranked 1st round matches:

Elmhurst Regional:  Wash-MO vs. UW-Whitewater
St. Thomas Regional:  Augsburg vs. Pacific Lutheran
                                 St. Benedict vs. Cornell-IA

Underdog/champ match-up (at least on paper):  Agnes Scott vs. ranked Emory  (Agnes Scott comes out of a comparably weak GSAC).

While I would have preferred Hope to be playing at home, I am very grateful to see that Hope & Calvin are in separate regions.  So any potential for a 4th meeting will be for the National Championship - which would be a home match for Hope :)

Joining Bluffton/Wittenberg in progress:  Tigers took Set 1, Set 2 about to get underway:

Update:  Wittenberg takes this one in 3
                      (25-16, 25-19, 25-20)
Witt:  Seidenstricker 15 kills, Murray 15 digs

(Barring a Buffalo State upset, the Tigers figure to have an interesting 2nd round matchup with U of Chicago tomorrow).

Match 2 Update: Buffalo State has forced a 4th set in the match vs. Chicago--

Update: Bengals' upset bid falls short; U of Chicago takes it (25-13, 24-26, 25-20, 25-14)
U of Chicago:  Del Zenero 50 assists- 4 players with 11 or more digs

Match 3 Update:   OAC ups its' record to 2-0 on the day, Mt. Union takes Carnegie Mellon (3-0)

Day 2:  Final:  Wittenberg over U of Chicago (28-30, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21)

This regional host school also wins, taking Mt. Union in 5

Southwestern has played much better at the end of the season, but that result over UMHB is an upset.
HSU took the first set from 1-loss Cal Lu, surprise surprise, hitting .064 won't win too many sets.

EDIT:  CLU up 11-5 in third set but trailing 2-0 overall (22-25, 19-25).

FINAL:   CLU wins in five, 15-13 in the final set after trailing 6-8 and 12-13.

I'll be out for a while, WLCALUM83, so feel free to update the Trinity-UC Santa Cruz match.

I believe the SCAC is the only conference with three representatives still in, but two face off tomorrow (Southwestern and Trinity TX).
