2010 Regional Rankings
« on: April 22, 2010, 10:46:36 pm »
When does the 1st regional ranking come out. Last year the 1st one came out on April 23, 2009 I believe ?

For those without inside access, keep an eye on this web page:

As usual, I don't understand the rankings. At least not in regards to the ASC.

I would suggest that anyone who wants to compare the regional rankings to that generated from the D3baseball.com and PrestoSports keep in mind that the period that the regional rankings for the NCAA is different than that posted on D3basedball.com.

Certainly any comparison will highlight errors in either list since nothing of this scale is entirely error free and please highlight these errors so atleast we can look at possible causes.

Biggest surprise for me--no Salisbury.

Salisbury was about 50th in our regional rankings just after the conference tournament and their loss to CNU probably put then below 15%.

From my experience, these D3baseball.com rankings are not too accurate as far as seeding goes when the regionals actually start, so dont take any of those rankings to heart

Next biggest surprise--Bates doesn't make the top 10 in New England.

Yea, some of these rankings are a joke. It's really ridiculous. A couple of beefs:

1. Webster has no business being ranked so low in the central. I dont care how tough Buenva Vista's record is, it aint better than a 21-1 team. Period.

2. What is up with LaGrange being so high?? Their SOS is in the 160s. And their record is not good. Close to that of salisbury. Makes no sense.

3. Keene St ranked at 13-11? Really? Get serious. Why, because they have a top 5 ranking? That didnt seem to help out Ripon or Montclair with similar records. Let's get consistent. How about Worcester St or Bates.

4. Last, why is Alvernia ranked so high? Shocked. But happy i guess. I just thought SOS counted for more than that. I am surprised they put them over Kean or Rowan. But Alvernia does have good picthing.

P.S. Miss. College is ranked too low...

Maybe, but LaGrange?
