LVC, formerly an ECAC D3 member and more recently a D1 member of the ACHA, has announced that it will return to NCAA D3 for varsity play. In addition, LVC will initiate women's NCAA D3  ice hockey. Both teams will begin play in 2016.

Great to see LVC make this move as we know I'm fully on the "more the merrier" bandwagon when it comes to DIII hockey, but...and it's a big but, especially considering a women's program is along for the ride what is it that makes you wary of the level of school commitment to programs?

Despite all the administrative boilerplate, I'm not convinced that LVC has , or will have, the resources to be fully competitive in D3. Of course, I may be wrong.

Warren, is men's basketball's decline over the past decade another indicator of that?
