So, when are the teams officially allowed to start practicing?

Can't believe nobody is talking about the new CCC and the formation of the NEHC? Lot of questions come to mind for instance it appears the new Commonwealth Coast Conference will have 10 members now while the New England Hockey Conference will lose UNE and drop to 9.  Will the CCC go with travel partners and play weekend games or continue with weeknight play?  Will the NEHC pick up another member to fill a travel partner for Southern Maine or will Southern Maine bolt and join Mascac now?  Will St. Mikes be dropping to D3 or stay D2?  Will they pick up Daniel Webster as a member? So many questions so little time.

It doesn't make sense for the teams in this league to play SMC twice a year in games that don't count toward NCAA rankings. Teams like Norwich and Babson are being hurt by this. Why name it the New England HC when Skidmore is a founding member?

If they want to get back to 10, Daniel Webster isn't a horrible option, other than the fact that they will be very bad for a while. Not that far from Southern Maine as a travel partner. Teams could stay in Portsmouth, NH that night.

IF DWC gets into a conference, it may help with recruitment.  The team has some good talent, but being new and not conference affiliated, makes it difficult.  I think the coach did a nice job this year getting 21 DIII games.

So I'm new to this entire subject. My son is a freshman playing at a D3 school. Seems like such a short season compared to his last several in Jr's. What should I expect to see this season? What are the big rivalries? I'd like to know what this experience will be all about. Thanks!

Who is he playing for? Lots of variation between leagues.

Does anyone know if DWC will start web casting the men's home hockey games.  DWC is mostly on the road and I see that most D3 teams webcast their games home and away for free.

Thanks

My son told me he's getting quite excited for practice starting on Monday. Will be fun to get after it. Do most of you guys follow D3 because you've got a kid playing at a school?

Is this your son's first year? Just wanting to get a feel for all this and to get some conversation started.

Does anyone know why Wentworth no longer plays at Matthews Arena? I thought last year was just temporary. Did Northeastern kick them out or something? I can't find a story for it.

This is my son's second year.  I had a daughter that played 2 years of DIII hockey but I didn't know about these sites back then.
