Tufts lost only one game this year and that was to Williams!

I do wonder how that nescac final woukd have turned out if we didnt give them a goal at the end of the game...

Stevens falls to 4-4 after a road loss to a good Union team. The Ducks looked lethargic in yielding 44 second half points. For the game, Stevens was outscored 50-20 in the paint. A road game on Sunday at Scranton is all that is left before the holiday break.

Hurley's team will need to find some kind of defensive identity prior to conference play. His previous squads have thrived on the defensive end, typically yielding an average of 64-65 points per contest over the last decade or so. In the last five games, Ducks' opponents have averaged 79 points.

where do you find the transfer portal information?

Typically, I find info by completing a search containing "Mount Union" and anything on X with that will pop up. Just sort it by the latest information.

Two stats I would highlight for the Wheaton @ UWRF game Saturday. UWRF runs on average 86 offensive plays a game, which is about 20 more than their opponents. That's a lot more offense. Their up tempo style keeps substitutions low and generally simplifies the defensive strategy while tiring them out over the course of a game. UWRF has run more plays in every game than their opponent. The closest spread I have seen is the past weekend when UWRF ran 80 plays and St Johns ran 70.

The second stat is that UWRF is tied for 2nd in the country in Turnovers generated. They have 22 INTs and 10 Fumble Recoveries this season.

These two stats together are a deadly combo. If RF runs 80+ plays (a couple games they have run 90-100) and the other team gives them 2+ extra possessions, it's hard to win. And that's before you factor in the personnel with Blaha, Timms, etc.

A final stat I would mention is that Wheaton and UWRF are coincidentally tied at 219th (out of 241 ranked teams) in fumbles given. That's a bad stat for both teams but I think one that might factor heavily in this game.

To me, Wheaton's QB Mark Forcucci doesn't throw a lot of Interceptions (just 6 this year on 35 TDs). If he does in this game Wheaton is toast. Assuming he does not, then the fumbles giveaway/takeaway will be critical. If Wheaton can take care of the football and go on some multi play, time consuming, 14 play drives that end in scores, that's potentially a recipe for success. And if they can get a couple fumbles/INT's to steal a couple extra possessions, all the better.

Blaha is really elite at what he does. He and his supporting cast are going to score. Wheaton will need to keep up, take care of the ball and figure out a way to steal a couple extra possessions in mind. Wheaton's defense has speed, just not as much size and strength relative to the big boy WIAC champs. They will have to utilize that to their advantage. DE Johanik and Kroger are going to have to be special and disciplined. When you let Blaha outside the pocket, bad things happen.

I'm impressed we made it to round 28 and over 100 picks before someone repeated a player.

https://letsgopioneers.com/news/2025/12/9/mens-basketball-pioneers-hold-off-carthage-for-third-straight-win.aspx

Platteville topped Carthage 62-59. The visitors were up 19 with about 10 left in the game.

Amazingly, with the Pioneers' win, the WIAC improved to 11-2 vs the CCIW this season.

Maryville announced the formation of the Kramer Memorial Fund today with MC President Dr. Bryan Coker noting, "We are working with the Kramer family to steer contributions to this memorial fund, and later, we will collaborate with members to determine how donations can best support those projects and initiatives that would align with Roy's and Sara Jo's values, interests, and wishes for the College," said Maryville College President Dr. Bryan F. Coker. "We are so appreciative of the family's support and cooperation during this time."

He (Coker) is a busy man these days.  Working with former senators Lamar Alexander and Bill Frist to fundraise for the $80M Alexander Institute for Conservation Leadership and the Sciences and now working with the Kramer family for something big.  What kind of big remains to be seen, but given Mr. Kramer was the commissioner of the SEC, Vandy's AD and national championship winning coach at Central Michigan (and the link to the Kramer Fund is on the athletics webpage, not academic) leads me to believe there is going to be a big announcement soon regarding facilities for the athletics department.

As I get older, the more I love our alma mater (the song, that is).  The Alexander Institute's focus is centered around Maryville's scenic location at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains (20 minutes or so from the park) and how we can protect its natural beauty.  It reminds me of the opening line of our alma mater--I hope they can incorporate this somehow in the project.  "Where Chilhowee's lofty mountains pierce the southern blue, proudly stands our alma mater--noble, grand and true."

He was respected enough in the Chicago area that his passing made it on to Chicago WBBM radio news, it's very sad.
