The only exceptions for pausing the 5-year clock are pregnancy, military service, and religious mission/public service commitment.

I like the idea of an independent schedule as that's what gallaudet is (mostly) doing right now.

Is this bowl happening because CNU couldn't find a d3 non conf opponent or because the schools actively wanted to play each other? This does not serve NPI at all.

Takes an opportunity for the Olaf students a chance to watch a game at home.  Not a fan at all!  If we were talking about a late season game in a dome I would support it, but this is ridiculous. 

Given St. Olaf averaged 965 fans at home games last year, and anecdotal experience (both as a player and fan and talking to my wife who is an Olaf grad), I'm not sure that St. Olaf students are queueing up en masse to attend home games. Outside of Carleton.

Case in point, in 2023 when the game was at Olaf, there were a wopping 564 fans vs SJU. I'm assuming SJU was at least half of that number. So let's call it 25 disappointed St. Olaf students, and 20 of them are probably girlfriends who would make the 30 minute drive to TCO. 

so they only game everyone goes to at northfield is carleton-st. olaf?

Now two pre-season outside scrimmages are allowed, but who could they scrimmage? Monroe University, New Rochelle, NY, is transitioning from a JC to Div2. Their football team has only 9 games scheduled, two of which are against beleaguered D3 Keystone. They have an open date on September 19. They could play a scrimmage or even an official game. An official game would allow St Francis to start practice a week earlier. I don't know if it's too late to add that game. Unfortunately, that would give Monroe five straight games to open their season.

They make a point of looking at the roster for the top players not returning, but who's returning. They don't even mention roster size, Which is 18 returning players and 36 newcomers, only one of is not a FR. He's is a d2 SO xfr QB, who did not play last season.

Of the 18 returners none were starters and only one was on the 2-deep last season. Only 12 got any playing time. And only had any stats. They return 5 DBs, 4 DL, 4 LB, 1 OL, 1 P, 1 RB, and 1 WR. Positions for FR are not listed.

I think that they might beat Hiram, St Vincent and Bethany. But they lose to W&J, GCC, Westminster, Geneva and CWRU.

They said Gallaudet would be a part of the scac through 2027. Does this mean we'll have an odd team out of the SCAC championship then? Is Gallaudet's contract with the scac reduced to just this fall only???
