I hope that the Board and Administration considered the closure with a consideration of having enough fungible assets to provide "liferafts" for students and faculty. I hope the closure is not a year too late.

With Marywood moving to the MAC, where do the remaining teams in the AEC assimilate? In the pecking order of the Mid-Atlantic states, I peruse the AEC not to be a destination for neighboring schools in the shuffle and Marywood and Neumann were happy to be invited.
Please comment and advise.

I am grateful to my 10th grade Latin II teacher, Mrs Bates, who Julius Caesaer's personal secretary. She demanded mastery of the material, which served me very well for the rest of my life.

I always chuckled at the under-the-table list of feminine 4th declension nouns that we compiled.

Does 30k help augment the budget in the SI Dept?

Quote from: Ron Boerger on June 10, 2025, 01:42:38 PMThe final NACDA Directors Cup standings are out.  Among SCAC schools:

22. Trinity 636
76. Colorado College 264
86. McMurry 226.25
112. Texas Lutheran 173
129. St. Thomas 149
T239. Concordia 50
T267. Schreiner 40
T287. Ozarks 26
T323. Southwestern 5

That's about as well as the conference has done, especially in number of teams ranked, in a number of years.

For Trinity, without winning a championship it is very hard to break into that top 20, where many schools get points for sports they don't sponsor (lacrosse, rowing, men's VB, fencing, ice hockey, men's wrestling, field hockey).

About 15 years ago, I used a co-efficient of the number of teams that competed in the sport as a percentage of the number of schools in D-3. So assuming 400 schools in D3, of which 240 play football (60%), you would multiply the 100 points for winning the Stagg by 60% to award points. Not very football-centric, but it still might assuage a few critics.

The Directors Cup changed very little.

With Trinity and McMurry leaving the SCAC, it seems that TLU can stay as the elite sports program in the SCAC. That means numerous opportunities for the Pool A's in numerous sports. I am not sure about long term football for the SCAC.

In an era of NIL, what does that do to Colorado College with its D2 and D3 sports hybrid?

A genuine question asking for insight on the dynamics of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and Regions 1 and 2. Losing SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Delhi really hurts.

Does the NAC consolidate back to a "one division" conference with 8 teams?

(The conference will have a smaller footprint.)

I see three dynamics in the ASC/SCAC...

The panache of getting to be in the same conference as Trinity.

The futility of a conference-competitive football program in the ASC with the UMHB-HSU behemoth.

Faith-based issues aligning with its mission and vision.

As with Jackson Teer from TUTx and the portal in 2024, one wonders about the surprises in Region X from the portal.

Congrats to Scott Winterburn at La Verne on Region X COTY. My choice was Josh Lee at McM for sweeping its Regional in only his 3rd season as Head Coach. He went from 14-26 & a last place 8-19 in the 2023 ASC standings to 35-13 & 22-8 and 3rd place in the SCAC.
