FYI: There's also two bracket challenges being run on other websites as well.

Looking forward to that one! Arcadia is solidly-in for a Pool C bid as well, so very, very likely we see both of them still playing next week. Would love to see Arcadia challenge DeSales more than they did in the previous two meetings...
I had the chance to talk with LeTourneau's James Wallace and Joel Wallace for a feature this week for the D3 Texas Newsletter. Pretty cool story with two brothers from Bellevue, Nebraska ending up in Longview, Texas leading the program at LETU. Over their 3 yrs leading the program, LETU is 51-28.

Feature is here:
Had the chance to see Franklin and Transy face off in Lexington last Tuesday in the regular season. Jessica Darmelio is really leading the Franklin program well...3rd time in the last decade that Franklin has won 17 games in a season. Big-time improvement from last year.
Yeah, what a game that was. I was impressed by Rockford's defense, but the Regents just couldn't put the ball in the basket. 5-of-14 from the FT line won't win you many games, not to mention shooting below 30% from the field...interested to see if it was a sort of wake-up call for WLC as well. Need to be focused with their only path to the NCAA Tournament almost certainly being via Pool A and winning the NACC Tourney.
Great work as always, Bob! Elyce continues to be very impressive in her on-court accomplishments as well as her stellar achievements in the classroom. Such an outstanding player on both ends of the floor for Millikin. And to think playing college softball, not college hoops, was her initial goal! Huge recruiting win for Coach Lett.
Definitely a storyline I'll be watching! Trinity has the makings of being a national contender this season.

As a side note, former Trinity right-hander Jack Martinez is Louisiana's ace in the starting rotation this year. Transferred in from Trinity after two really solid years in San Antonio. He's going to be Louisiana's Friday night starter and threw 5 IP with 1 hit allowed and 1 walk against Wright State on Friday.
Unless something has changed, there is no Whitewater game in Week 3. That was a home-and-home deal for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. UMHB currently has Weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4 open according to the Open Dates page.
The portal craziness continues. ASC leader in sacks, ETBU's Jahkamian Carr, is now in the portal as well. I'm not sure what the ASC is going to look like next year. ETBU, UMHB, HPU, and HSU have all lost key starters to the portal...and we're only in December. The season ended almost exactly a month ago.

Is anyone here? Seems not.

Yeah, not sure why we haven't seen any posters on here this season...I'll do my best to post more frequently here as well.

TLU says goodbye a year early ...

I think this basically forces the ASC to run a double round robin w/championship as then the 4 teams would only need 12 total non-conference games.  That is pretty similar to the number that the SCAC will need with 10.  It'll be interesting to see what happens to any scheduling agreements that might be in play...

The ASC will need 16.  In a four-team double round-robin you only have six conference games.   A lot harder for four teams to find four non-conference games than for five teams to find two each.

40 - ((Double round robin (3 + 3) + championship week (1)) * 4) = 12, .  Do the championship similar to 2020 with 1+2 and 3+4 playing.

Hadn't thought about there being a championship with only four teams but it would make life easier for all.  +1

ASC office tells me they are still discussing scheduling options. Obviously, I'll be sure to publicize it whenever I get something concrete on scheduling plans, though that may not be decided for a little while. A championship game definitely seems like it could work. Works well in the MIAC/SCIAC and would add one more quality game to the schedule...UMHB playing HSU 3 times in the regular season? Would definitely feel more like basketball in that sense...could create some very interesting dynamics.
ETBU QB Carlos Garibay has entered the transfer portal. Started for most of the season at ETBU as a sophomore. Threw for 1,026 yds, 7 TDs, 6 INTs.
UMHB RB Kenneth Cormier has entered the transfer portal. Rushed for over 2,000 yards in 4 years at UMHB. Had 618 yards this season with 6 TDs.

Speaking of the broadcast, is it just me or has anyone else had difficulty trying to watch UMHB games online?  The streaming service seems terrible.  Have used my phone, different laptops and all the same issues, constantly buffering so you end up missing out on a lot of the game.

SID needs to look into changing services and getting rid of Presto or whatever it is they are using.---it's TERRIBLE!
I have to use my work laptop to watch the games. If I try to watch them on my personal computer, it freezes and buffers every 5 seconds. Stretch is useless.

I don't know why we can't stream on YouTube like Trinity, Southwestern, and TLU (I think). I've never had any problems with it there.

Austin College also now streaming on YouTube. It is the way to go in my opinion. And from a exposure standpoint, you will often pick up viewers on YouTube (who see it on their recommended feed), that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Lots of positives to YouTube and its essentially free to stream on (obviously you need all of the back end stuff to make the production work, but you pay for that on whatever platform you have).

Figured it out, K. Deal--------------don't see him listed on the roster anymore at all???

Now that you mention it, he has been deleted from UMHB's site. That generally doesn't happen...

UMHB's defense made some good adjustments yesterday, offense was sort of meh. But getting 16 points via special teams + defense is always great.

In other scores, anyone got some details on HSU only beating TLU by 5?  Glynn did play so ???

To avoid speculation on Khyren Deal, I'll say this. It was confirmed to me (and has already been reported in the Temple Daily Telegram by Eric Drennan as well) that he left the team to focus more on academics. Balancing being a PT major and playing football (or any sport) for that matter isn't easy. This is not the first time this has happened with a UMHB student-athlete deciding to step away from their sport to focus on being a PT major. It was tough on him to step away, but he had to make a decision that he felt was best for his long-term future.
