Quote from: MediaGuy on October 03, 2026, 06:10:46 PMI have some questions for the coaching staff at Nebraska Wesleyan...
1. Down 49-7 at half and leave your starters in against Wartburgs 2's and 3's until the 4th quarter?
2. Onside kick 3 times while down 40+ in the 2nd half?
3. Call 2 timeouts in the last minute with your 3rd offense on the field down 40?
4. Have your head coach telling players "its time to tear some ACLs" out loud for everyone to hear?

No class...this coaching staff doesn't deserve to win a college football game.

No wonder your PA announcer called you the "Prairie Dogs" all day

I have no problem with a team losing by multiple scores wanting to play out a full game. You get 60 minutes 10x a year (for most team's not named Wartburg) to give it your all. How you choose to handle those 60 minutes is up to your coaching staff. Just don't be upset when your decisions have fall out/consequences. In the future, I could see Wartburg scoring 100 points the next time they play in Lincoln and I am not going to have pity for the Prairie Wolves in that scenario.

That being said, if what you said is true about hoping to inflict injury on a team that is beating you down, that is simply not acceptable. I know the NWU staff is very young and most likely got caught up in the heat of the moment, but that is just not how a coach should be conducting himself.
Things are getting salty and we're only 1 week into conference play  ;D

Men's soccer / Re: Liberty League

It's nice to see the Liberty League get some pub.  Never would I expect that SLu would be this highly ranked compare to the team last year since it is the same cast of characters.  Give credit to them and coach Tosh.  Also to have Hobart this high too is quite the accomplishment. Hoepfully the winning ways continue and we can get at least 2 in the tournament but there is stil a lot of soccer left and anything can happen.  Also it is nice to see Cortland and Oneonta ranked as high as they are. I could be wrong but 4 schools from NY in the top 20 is big accomplishment. Hope it continues.

SLU at #1 and Hobart at #9 in the first NPI rankings.  Lots of soccer to be played, but quite a remarkable turnaround compared to last season for the Saints.  Wins from here on out for both teams allow them to drop weak wins from their NPI resume.  As I said, lots of soccer to be played and individual results can cause big swings in the numbers, but both teams have put themselves in a position to get a top 8 protected seed.  The road gets exceedingly more difficult as the target on the back continue to gets larger and larger.  Vassar will be an extremely difficult game for SLU given that Vassar needs the result.

Quote from: Bucket on October 03, 2026, 05:27:09 PMAmherst should be concerned with making the NESCAC tournament. Any thoughts of making the NCAA Tournament is a pipe dream for the Lord Mammoths.

You're underestimating how many ties in the NESCAC will help Amherst in NPI. Just watch, they'll beat a couple of the bottom dweller teams in the conference, get a couple more ties against good teams, and get right back on the bubble.

While it is obvious that Mount should make a HC change, it is sad for me as a former player and
alum to question both the Administration and Athletic Director ability to do the right thing. :o

Quote from: KnightSlappy on Today at 03:30:06 PMIf MUW must change the name, they should change it to MUW and if that must stand for something it can be Mississippi University W. The W can stand for the letter W which represents the history of the college being a women's college.

I imagine that name would be blocked by the Ole Miss wing of the Mississippi legislature, but I like the idea.
