Marywood to the MAC in 2026-27.

Atlantic East Conference looks less viable by the day.

Post it in the topic "Future of Division III"  Under General D3 Issues"

we posted about it in that room months ago when it was announced.

Vassar swaps in Cortland, NYU and Middlebury while dropping Brandeis and Drew. Tough schedule.

Mike McSloy (head coach at Drew) taking over the Ithaca men's basketball program. He won a lot of games down there, seems like a strong hire.

Quote from: Ralph Turner on June 06, 2025, 12:04:48 PMA genuine question asking for insight on the dynamics of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and Regions 1 and 2. Losing SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Delhi really hurts.

Does the NAC consolidate back to a "one division" conference with 8 teams?

(The conference will have a smaller footprint.)

almost assuredly, yes. They're on track for grace period/AQ loss in a few sports too (men's lax, women's lax, women's tennis).

Quote from: justafan12 on May 13, 2025, 11:22:23 AMTLU getting sent to Ithaca, NY for a regional.  I think that might be a travel record for D3 softball (1,763 miles)  in the regional / super regional format.  Linfield and PlU both traveled to Tyler for regionals in the just regional format days.

not even the longest this year. Johnson & Wales (RI) is going to Linfield.

RPI beats Ithaca again 4-1 to claim the LL championship. Don't see any way Ithaca gets in. Reminiscent of that Super Regional where they were on the doorstep but couldn't seal the deal.

Ithaca down from 37 to 45 in the NPI after the loss to RPI yesterday, so seems safe to say it's a one bid league. Gotta win today to keep playing ball.

Some sort of software glitch in that one, or a Sidearm coding error.

Morales for Keystone had an odd day at the plate, going 0-2 with 78 walks, 108 strikeouts, 97 sac bunts, 114 sac flies, 46 stolen bases in 78 attempts, and getting hit by 67 different pitches, apparently.

Certainly will be interesting to see what the NPI ranking looks like for Ithaca tomorrow morning. Will they be able to squeeze in if they lose to RPI again?

Ithaca, Skidmore, RPI, Clarkson in the 4-team double elimination field. More representation for the East Division than there has been in a minute; feels weird not to see Rochester here. Tournament at Freeman Field.

this Saint Elizabeth addition will allow the AEC to keep its automatic berths for baseball and softball but does nothing to keep them afloat in m/w lacrosse, m/w tennis, or field hockey. They were in the grace period for those sports already (because of Cabrini's closure) before Neumann even announced they were leaving in 2026.

Utah cut beach volleyball, seemed like an odd fit for their athletic department anyway, given the, shall we say, dearth of oceanfront property in Salt Lake City or the state of Utah generally.

Should be great for Russell Sage going forward, first the demise of Saint Rose removes a competitor for local students and now this. ACPHS is literally next door to Sage, I'm surprised they didn't merge years ago.

Nobody will miss ACPHS's barely functioning USCAA athletic department, except maybe Union men's soccer which loved to whoop up on them on a random Tuesday in October to pump up their stats.

it's gotta be Albright or Alvernia (maybe both) in danger of going under, right?

I have no knowledge of which school may or may not be doing something with Penn State as mentioned above, I guess if I had to guess I'd say DVU.
