Oberlin College lists only 41 players on its website.  16 are Fr. 12 Sr Only 5 are Jr. Only 8 are So. That's only 29 next season if all return..

16 Fr is a slight improvement over 2025 which had only 13 Fr.

Being picked 4th out of, essentially, 12, is not a bad place to be.  It's a bit higher than I expected.

I liked Coach Debs' and Kavcic's interview at Media Day. 

Who besides the three transfers who have been discuss caught your eye? Debs seems high on the OL returning rather than FYs.  "There were several younger players we liked that

PAC currently has a top tier of five and a big gap to sixth. Why would the Spartans be lower than fifth? I wonder how many poll voters were aware of Geneva's schedule advantage. CWRU and Geneva do not play one another in 2026. Geneva, as in 2025, plays one fewer of the top three than CWRU

The situation in Loretto hasn't gotten any better for St Francis. Their website now only shows twelve returning players, when earlier it listed nineteen.

The media guide has Spartan's 2027 schedule with nine conference games without Grove City or St Francis. Rochester, like this season, is the non-conference foe. 

I wish that the five UAA football schools would agree to schedule one another in week 1. CMU and Rochester each need three non-conference games so they could alternate playing the odd team out in week 2.   

When is the OAC media day?  Nothing on the OAC page or Mount Union page either...have I missed it?

I agree that if 5/5 comes to D3, it could be the impetus for schools without grad programs to join together.

D3football FAQ Medical redshirting (also known as a medical hardship season) is still permitted at the Division III level. The general guideline is that you must have played one-third of the scheduled games or fewer in order to be eligible. If you suffer a season-ending injury in that time-frame and can document it, your conference (or athletic director, if an independent) can file paperwork with the NCAA on your behalf to restore a season of eligibility.

No argument here! We also started posting this content on YouTube in order to extend our reach. The podcast audience is about 4-5% 18 and under.

According to Frank Rossi, D2 just approved "5-5".  This just helps the larger D3 schools, (of course the WIAC & EMPIRE).  This should in theory mean more players spend 5 years at school than ever before.  Less chance of playing time for freshman and sophomore's, then more transferring down a level.  The most important thing for any young players is playing time.  Does anybody know what triggers a medical redshirt?  Would those still apply at the D3 level.  I wouldn't be surprised if D3 split into 2 division in the next decade.

This realignment was a long time coming. Finally some common sense to reduce travel. Looks like  New Paltz left one year too early. Having them still in SUNYAC would have given conference another decent wild card contender type team
