Thanks for your support of D3. Looks great

Kuiper, thanks...spoke to some past athletes, they told me basically what you said about Claremont and Pomona schools. One funny comment was the personalities at the different schools, I will leave it at that...

Pat I like the format, looks good, what happen to tally of who liked and disliked my post ? Did you remove that function?

Wally, not all of life is learn on your pc...All I know, any kid with pretty good grades, the Sagehens try to see if they could get him or her into Pomona....So I don't know where that would show up in your on your PC.

Pomona is the easiest of the schools to get into, now that said it is still harder than getting into CU or UR for sure, last time I checked Pomona College is where most of the good athletes were enrolled. Do you have any info that is different? I welcome it an update on my info ...Thanks...I am just talking FB too

No chance SCIAC join up with Texas schools, I dont think folks understand the financial issues schools faces some schools faces, throw in CU and Oxy will only spend so much...not in our lifetime.

The real issue is what will happen to D3 Sports, when Power 5 have to make FB and BB players employees. Blows up all the Title 9 deficit sports. Going to be a mess.

Super  Pre Pre Guess

Notable, just seems like less chatter out there with recruiting in the conference, the NIL is having an affect on how SCIAC coaches are recruiting. Less spots for HS seniors across the board, so figuring out who can fit into your program is getting somewhat more difficult. The cost of living in So Cal is hurting out of state recruits too. I know it has nothing to do with policies, taxes, giving away an 1/3 of your GDP, low crime rates, etc...all make CA more attractive,...I will be like your wife...I told you so...

Its very hard to factor in Seniors and if coming back given the soft NCAA rules of allowing 30 years olds to play due to the virus.

1) Chapman, my respect for Owens grows every year. His squads always have the better skill players. They recruit players and do not get caught up in their size. They are the smallest team in the league but battle for first, slow start last year and keeping it together is leadership.

2nd Tie...UR and CMS

UR, some O linemen back and plus our QB is healthy ...Defense will need to be re built but in the past we have always put a solid defense on the field.

CMS, losing a lot of plays seniors and GR, They do very well recruiting given their national footprint, and the type of assistance they can offer (Free college)...Program is impressive given facilities etc..I expect CMS to be at the top for years to come.

4) PP, losing a lot of guys too like CMS, PP trying to mirror CMS national approach, a little easier getting kids into Pomona than the CMS schools. Clearly committed to athletics with ongoing up grades

5) CLU, School has lost a lot of cache around So Cal...despite the Rams etc...Very average staff and clearly the Libs took over and are not committed to male athletics.

6) LV, do they have the funds to keep playing, my concern. I really do not get them, they could be so much better...recruiting some the local talent...given Whittier is gone

WW, QB is the best I have seen on the West Coast in the last 5+ years. Watched the fourth quarter of the LF game and Chapman game. He has skills, throws on the run, checks down, moves well surprise he ended up in D3.

Thanks Fox,

I could provide a data on donors, profile, demographics etc...but most folks don't like data that confronts their beliefs. Go study what has happened at UC Berkley and starting at UCLA...

Old dog, go get Maynard to come out of retirement. Jk old dog, I don't want to hear a rant how you wouldn't be able to get him to unretire because he was pushed out by feminists/communists and this world is too soft for real men to flourish. But seriously, Redlands better get with the times instead of yelling at people to get off their lawn. Time is moving forward, not back.  Pomona plays on a pop Warner field and CMS has sand traps in the middle of theirs but they've figured out the landscape.  Redlands facilities are good enough to win. Besides all that, Chapman vs Pomona in the inaugural SCIAC championship game, should be a good one.

Red,  congrats on your second post...

Redlands better get with the times? what does that mean, new facilities like PP and CMS...or full rides grants that both schools are capable of doing. They are great schools throw in the aid they can offer, its compelling. CMS can recruit nationally can UR, CLU, LV , CU ?
Get off the lawn? I do not rep UR...you know that, right. UR board has made a decisions in regards to sports and mantra , I will let the outcome speak for itself. ...see UR, see CLU..see LV ...see Whittier....see Oxy

Agree RBF, very sad days in the Dog Pound ....Long term the only way to compete is new facilities, to challenge CMS, PP, Chapman, and to some extent CLU.

The rising tide of feminization of the world is working against us.

Good take RBF, Coach Good is a good man, I think just very busy in both roles.

RB, I get what you are saying...However we need to get the ball to our WR too, I think they are more athletic that PP's back line. Maybe it comes off play action and take advantage of some foot speed issues or size. Maybe we see some boot action under center, Ford has the foot speed to create pressure. PP will run 7 and 8 guys up front.  I dont think we need to line up on double Tight or power formations and bring more guys into the box. Plus Ford will need to run and put pressure on ends, when the senior is in zone read is not a threat. Dink and dunk keep them spread out.

On defense, our SS are really playing well. They need to have a great game...

Redman, the most critical issue is our starting QB broke his leg, we could only score 9 points with him. 10 points may win the game. I would start the sophmore over the senior at QB for UR, given his legs are better. I have PP a 7 point favorite. 10 years ago If you told me PP is a 7 point favorite against the dogs,  I would have been put in re hab.
3-3-5 is designed to stop the QB, PP will come up with some creative attacks.

On the UR broadcast, what Jack is saying is what Mitch said...He is usually on top of that stuff.
