Sure seems that this year has an unusually high percentage of guards and especially point guards with almost all of the teams commitments.

tartanpride2016

Alma College the first MIAA school to post its 2021-22 schedule.
http://almascots.com/sports/mbkb/2021-22/schedule

Interesting notes:

1. Four straight home games to open
2. Brutal five-day stretch in November that includes Illinois Wesleyan, Augustana and Elmhurst
3. New Year's Day game at Ferris State
4. MIAA schedule not in a repeating cycle. Benefits Alma with a more favorable start/finish, but a gauntlet middle stretch (Trine/Hope 2x in 3 weeks)

Interesting that the Alma HS grad is going to Albion.
Also, only one recruit from Illinois seems unusual.

I don't think this has been posted on the board, but it's now public knowledge that Calvin star, Emmett Warners, plans on playing hoops for the Knights next season. While Emmett graduated in May, he wants to get an MBA, and also use a 5th year of eligibility. And lo and behold, guess which MIAA institution now has a business school that might allow him entry? I'm pretty sure Bill Sall appreciates getting back a very experienced player who averaged a double/double in last year's, COVID filled, short season.

With the fifth year of eligibility, are there any records across the MIAA or for individual teams that are at risk for being broken, since a 4-year player has a fifth year eligibility?  Even though it was a shortened season, some players will get 10% more games in.

Would take a deeper dive, but off hand I can't think of any, the league has some pretty lofty records that are tough to break in todays game.  Maybe things like 3pt made/shot, steals, blocks etc.   Scoring and rebounding would seem out of each even with 4+ years of games.  Ebeling and Granger had chances to move up their respective schools leading scorers.

Some of the younger guys that might squeeze out 5 years might get some in the future though.  Trine might end up with 2 or 3 full 5 year players.  Cox/Menanglo come to mind.  Still a tough financial commitment for most D3 guys.
