Last post by maripp2002 - Yesterday at 09:11:40 PMTo be clear, everyone at DPU and anyone visiting should be very excited to play in a lovely new stadium. Definitely an upgrade over the existing Blackstock.
I'd argue that across the board, the NCAC has some of the best facilities per capita, and this will definitely up the ante. I know the NESCAC throws a ton of resources at their athletics and their facilities reflect that. The liberty league has some nice stadiums too. I really enjoy watching Union home games as they have an interesting setup (at least across the field). All of the WIAC stadiums I've been to are quite large, but, imo, nice but not competing for best facilities.
My point wasn't to demean Depauw's setup, just to say that UMHB threw a TON of money at their stadium, and as a consequence, it's just above and beyond what everyone else has. Thankfully, in the NCAC we ALSO remember to throw $$ at academics too.
So we can always celebrate that.

If so, then McMurry at 15-13 (0.536) looks to finish above someone at 16-14 (0.533) for tournament seeding and would be seeded 4th unless AC or Hendrix sweeps. If AC finishes 15-13, I think they have the head-to-head vs McMurry for 4th.
The AC at Hendrix series is crucial for both teams. It is almost like a play-in series for them
One loss by a team at 13-14 knocks them out. Each has to sweep for any chance.
Yep - McMurry, after these games are canceled, is in. My math tells me there's no way they can be bumped at this point, because conference winning percentage is the next metric. I spent waaaaaaay too much time this weekend breaking down scenarios. And you're dead on: AC vs HC really is pretty much a play-in. I feel like we can probably expect Centenary to sweep Ozarks, which would put the Gents in. But if Ozarks takes a game, that's makes things very interesting and confusing. Looking at the forecast, it looks like there's a very good chance the HC/AC games don't end up being played, either. If that happens, both McM and AC are almost certainly in based on win percentages.
What a wild season.

Geesh, Pat. Sorry to pose a question on a silent discussion board. Will let it return to silence

Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things, but it would have fun to have the top ranked team in the world training at a D3 school
"The men's French national football team, Les Bleus, will train at Bentley University in Waltham during the World Cup this summer, despite having previously committed to training at Babson College. According to French football reports, the change was sparked by prolonged financial negotiations and an impasse between Babson, the French Football Federation (FFF) and FIFA.
Les Bleus are the top-ranked team in the World Cup as of April 14.
On March 26, Bentley's athletic director, Vaughn Williams, announced that the French team will arrive on June 10 and train at Bentley for the duration of the World Cup. The university will serve as a training site that the team will return to, no matter how far they travel for their tournaments, which are scheduled to happen across the country."
Disappointing, but we'll probably never get the full story. I too was looking forward to having a World Cup team train there as they have numerous times in the past, and not just for WC matches. Babson has been very accommodating in the prior years.
I suspect and expect Babson will still get a team.
Something I didn't know until just now: Bentley is D2 in 22 of 23 programs. I knew men's hockey is D1.
