Last post by Kuiper - Today at 12:36:34 AMWheaton (IL)
Wheaton once again appears to have a Region X-heavy non-conference schedule. It travels to Colorado Springs to play against a couple of TBA opponents, but I presume one of them will be Colorado College, which they tied 2-2 last season @Wheaton after Colorado College tied it up in the 78th minute. Then, at Wheaton's Bob Baptista Invitational, they play Pacific Lutheran and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. It also adds home games against Trine and Calvin in place of Wash U and Kalamazoo. A potentially challenging schedule for a school looking to push beyond missing out on the NCAA tournament after losing a close game against North Park in the CCIW semifinals and missing out on the NCAA tournament despite finishing 11-3-4.
Alfred State
The best news in this schedule is that the Alfred Cup has become an annual event and Alfred State opens the season seeking to defend the cup after beating Alfred 2-1 last season. The biggest change is simply that Alfred State has moved from the AMCC to the SUNYAC. That's a pretty big step-up in conference quality and should pose a significant challenge, even though they've already been playing a few SUNYAC schools non-conference like Fredonia and Delhi.

He was suspended at ISU, supposedly for doping. All the other medalist walked off the podium each time he was presented his national title trophy.

The UAA did not do much on social media before this season. They would not even post the preseason polls, for example.
So in other words, the idea of the 200% increase being attributable to Flo is almost certainly bull****.
Imagine that.

Last post by SpringSt7 - Yesterday at 07:26:24 PMOverdue here but props to both Trinity and Tufts. I was really impressed by Okorougo against Hood - he really carried them with Vetter in a little bit of foul trouble and I am happy to be proven wrong in regards to him creating his own offense. He is a great player and if he plays like that again in Ft. Wayne they will go to another Final Four.
I have had really high expectations for Tufts for like 3 years now and they were really really impressive on Friday night. Linton is the real deal and I think you could argue has done the best coaching job in the country this year, factoring in that there are a lot of other great coaches in the country and I don't know all of their stories. Reilly and Wesleyan had a great year and are worthy of COY but I definitely feel vindicated in picking Linton as POY. If someone told you in October that Morakis would play 14 minutes a game and score 6 points but they would be in the Elite 8 you would've laughed at me. Josh Bernstein coming into his own after being a guy whose flaws have been exposed in big moments throughout his career has been a really cool story. I think they have a real chance at getting Trinity on Thursday assuming Gyemesi continues to progress.
After the sky was falling for a few years + COVID 5th years messing everything up, 3 straight Final Fours for the NESCAC again. The league is back and in good shape once again

Last post by Ron Boerger - Yesterday at 06:26:46 PMQuote from: y_jack_lok on Yesterday at 10:01:57 AM"2. The UAA has just 3,289 followers on X, and 7,212 on Instagram. Clicking on the Insta followers, I see a lot of accounts of people who have very few followers and who make almost no posts."
I realize that by the standards of celebrities and politicians those numbers of followers are insignificant, but for a D3 sports conference they don't seem too bad to me. But I'll admit that I have no other basis for making that comment. I suppose D1 conferences could have hundreds of thousands to perhaps millions of followers. Anyway, just an observation.
The SCAC, which most would agree is a less prestigious conference made up of much smaller and less successful schools (in many ways including sports) than the UAA, has 10K Xitter followers and 9.5K on Insta. The SAA, a relatively new conference about which the same could be said, has 7.9K on Xitter and 7.5K on IG. The WIAC has 11.4K/12.6K. The NCAC has 14.6K/12.8K.
Having not done the necessary due diligence to ensure these are legit followers, it still seems that the UAA given its profile could do better.

Last post by Dr. Acula - Yesterday at 04:11:04 PMNot a great day for us yesterday. BW lost 13-5. Etta lost 8-7. Mount lost 6-3. Then today Etta gets beat 18-5 by Cortland St. Their schedule is absolutely brutal. Mount gave up 4 runs early with not one but two errors on pickoff throws that inning hurting their cause. They cut it to 4-3 in the 7th, but Salve pushed it out to 6-3 in the 8th.
Cap lost a pair yesterday with game 1 to Bluffton 4-3, game 2 to Chatham 5-3. After their red hot 7-0 start they're 3-5 since and have scored 4 or fewer runs in 6 of those 8 games.
Ott has dropped 9 straight to sit at 1-12. Their last 5 games they've scored 9 runs total.
Wilm was swept in a 3 game series to Oberlin this weekend. They're 0-10 to start the season, but they've been competitive in almost evry game including losing 6-4 to #12 Centre.
