Mrs. hopefan and hopefan taking off for the trip of a lifetime... see you next season

Bon voyage! I guess that means that RPI is going all the way in your absence.  ;)

Nah, it just means that RPI is going to play a SLIAC team in the title game. ;)

The women's game didn't go nearly so well for CCNY; they lost 99-10.

QuoteYIKES!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o

QuoteCCNY women have a decent player, Reilly Boehm, she is averaging over 27ppg.  Actually leads D-III women in scoring.  She hasn't played in the past two games. She had 49 points on 1/26 at Lasell. She had 41 against Potsdam on 12/14.

We didn't shoot very well, but we made up for it by not rebounding and committing turnovers.

I guess the regular season ends like this:

Undefeated : Swarthmore

Winless : Bard, Finlandia, Lesley

Lesley's women won their second to last game over Bay Path, so no perfect storm.

Finlandia's women went 14-11 with a 9 game winning streak!

augie77

Finlandia wins!  The Lions' 57 game losing streak against ALL competition has ended with a 94-87 win over Gogebic Community College.  This avenges an earlier loss this season to Gogebic.  This was Finlandia's first win since January 18, 2018.

Some may point out that Gogebic isn't a four year college, but they still get a tip of my cap, just for persevering in the most challenging (due to isolation. brutal climate, etc.) situation in all of D3.

Just getting this started for the season. I'm sure there's teams that would be on the Undefeated/Winless vs D3 lists but I'm not going to search for them. Gordon still on both lists after cancelling their first two games.

Brandeis just kicked UMass-Dartmouth off the undefeated bus this evening.  Brandeis won, 76-68, to hand the Corsairs their first loss of the season.

(The old Boston Globe cartoon in the sports page with "Exit the Dog" is popping up in my head right now....)

CNU85

Scratch RMC off the list. CNU wins in OT 77-76. CNU's first lead was in OT. High level hoops game. Each team had 17 assists and CNU only had 5 turnovers and RMC only 6

Rhode Island College also dropped it's first game of the season, 83-61, to Worcester State

Ron Boerger

Trinity(TX) lost a 103-100 barnburner to visiting Carleton (who hit nearly half the 28 threes they took, which surely didn't hurt).

If there are any errors, blame the NCAA. I did it based on their stats.

Looking at the Undefeateds

LeTourneau [#40 tie] has two losses to Non-DIII teams. Should they be moved to the undefeated against D3 category?

#24 DeSales and #21 Rensselaer are favored in Massey in all their scheduled games,

If Rensselaer beats #34 Oswego on 12/29, they would likely face host St. John Fisher the next day.

#17 Williams has games with both #20 Amherst (1/8 & @1/19) and at #1 Yeshiva (1/2), so at least one of the undefeated teams will have a loss.

#7 St. Joseph's [Ct] faces #8 Marietta in Las Vegas on 12/29

#3 Wisconsin Platteville faces #5 UW Oshkosh twice on 1/19 and 2/2, and #8 UW Lacrosse who they have already beaten on 1/26.

Some defining games coming up for the undefeateds after the Christmas Holiday.

Sam Houston and Texas State were exhibitions.  They did however lose Saturday to Mary Hardin Baylor, so they'll drop off the next update.

So glad that this page is being kept up...fun to follow these teams... thanks Sac and Griz
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!
