Nice fumble recovery by Allan on that punt.

I think he was long snapping for the punt team.

Maybe long snapping is his ticket to make a roster, along with being a big bodied TE that can move pretty well, he looked pretty fast out there. :o

There's a receiver at Oregon that has only played football for two years, this is his second.  He's not football savvy at all and has bad hands but he's a track guy and he can fly.
Pro scouts project him as a probable draft pick.
I've seen both guy's play and Garcon is a better football player.
I guess my point is that if Garcon can lay down a legit 4.3-4.4 forty, then he'll get a serious look, maybe get drafted late if indeed his times are blazin.  You can tell he's got pretty good instincts and he's only gonna get better.

Think about it, the reason why pro scouts are so in love with 40 times is that the d-ends in the nfl can get to the qb in a hurry, so wr's need to get to where they need to be in a hurry, so the qb can get rid of the ball.

Congrats to Mt. Union on a well played game.  You guy's won on offense, defense, and special teams.

I thought your guy's slick athletic qb was the key to the game.  He really played with a lot of confidence and was very decisive with his decision making.

Just really impressed with the Mt. Union program.  Hey, why didn't your coach get the gatorade shower?

Oh my goodness Bluenote, I thought I was the only one that loved the chili cheese burritos from T-bell.

Couldn't believe it when they took them away :'(

I think they were called Chilitos back in the day :D

I was at the Duck-Sooner game and the refs were really bad as everyone has heard, but, there were three bad calls against the Duck's that no one has talked about.  Two delay of game penalties that were not called in crucial situations, and an offensive pass interference that shoulda been called on a sooner TD.

Yes, that tipped ball that was called PI on the sooners was brutal, but the onside kick was tough to tell.  I watched the replay a bunch and Patrick Chung for the Ducks comes down with the ball for a split second, then he hits the ground and the ball squirted out.  Then #23 picks it up and walks away from the pile.

Do I think Oklahoma should have been rewarded the ball,?  I think so.

But that doesn't take away the fact that the Duck's never quit, they never gave up, even when they were down 13.  Loudest and best football game I've ever been to.

Talked to quite a few Oklahoma fans after the game and they said that they had been to much larger stadiums then Oregon's but never to a stadium that loud :o  They also said that Oregon's fans were the most gracious they had ever played against.

Ragen is a tough hard runner, but let's not compare him to David Russel.

D Russ was possibly the best running back ever at Linfield, top 3 at least.

Lay off of Benzel, that's his first game as the starting QB, it takes awhile to settle in.  He's obviously got the talent.  Just remember, he doesn't have Allen or Hazenburg to throw to :)

WOU has some really good athletes, probably better than the Cat's will see all season, unless they play against St. Johns or Mt. Union in the playoffs.

The Cat's will bounce back.

MonroviaCat,

I agree with you all the way on the practice squad for Elliot.

Brett's best years are yet to come in the NFL.

"Prime time" is Neon Deon Sanders, quite possibly the best athlete ever.

"Iron Head," is Craig Hayward, one of the best blocking backs of all time, played with the Saints.

"Bad Moon" is Andre Rison, very good receiver for the Falcons.

"The Nigerian Knightmare" is Christian Okoye, played with the Cheifs.  Kind of a two year wonder.

I think Coco covered the rest.

I think the reason he didn't get in is because Whitehurst threw that terrible ball for a pick and coach Marty S. didn't want him to end his game on that bad note.

He probably wanted him to get back in and have a few positive plays the next series, which most likely would have been Brett's.

Whitehurst threw some good balls but didn't look that good.  He's gettin the reps because the chargers probably gave him between 400-500,000 dollar signing bonus.

Pirate Pride,

That reminds me of what the flight attendant said when landing in vegas recently, "Welcome to lost wages."

Hey Pat,

I was just wondering why Clark from Whitworth isn't on the recent poll for pre-season qb's?  He's probably the best athlete in the conference.  No big deal, just wondering.
