Kmic joins Borchert on the CFB Hall of Fame ballot.  Nate should be a no-doubt selection, but BB should have been in years ago too

Jason Candle is bringing his Toledo Rockets to Alliance for part of preseason camp.  Definitely a unique situation, hopefully both programs will benefit.  Maybe some new goalline packages for the Raiders?

QuoteQ: You are taking your team to the University of Mount Union for the first part of training camp. This is something new for your program, but also a kind of homecoming for you as that's your alma mater, as well as other coaches on your staff.

Candle: I think it's a unique opportunity to find a way to continue to help make our team as connected as possible. There's no better way to do that than to be able to sit down and have a meal together. There's no better way to do that than to be away in a remote location where you can be together every hour of the day and really work on the task at hand. Preseason camp is for the development of your football team in all phases. This will allow us to do that. This is a unique situation because not many programs have the opportunity to go do this at a place like Mount Union. For myself and many guys on our staff, there are those memories that hold a special place in our hearts. So, it'll be cool to go back. I think our players will be excited to go see where their coaches played and developed as young coaches. But then it will be time to be get down to business and get the work done.

Quote from: pradierguy on April 15, 2025, 11:55:17 AMMount released a "new" logo for athletics today. Yawn.

Screams of consultants getting paid for consulting and that is about it.

I'd rather hire an Offensive Coordinator than paying a graphic artist to slap a sword on the generic purple M

hopefully they don't but it wouldn't shock me if Mount messes with one of college football's iconic helmets

Mount picks up another transfer from Muskie. Jose Matos listed as a 6-5 300 lb sophomore on the '24 Muskie roster.  Doesn't look like he was a starter, but played in more than a handful of games.

Quote from: WRMUalum13 on April 09, 2025, 12:48:19 PMSpeaking of speed, Luke Lehnen ran a 4.62 at the big XII pro day. Surprisingly slow for what I saw watching him the last several years.

I thought he was "the fastest player on the field" in every game?

Quote from: Dr. Acula on April 07, 2025, 04:02:17 PMWray was a stud.  Aside from being a gifted runner he was also one of the best pass catchers at the position over the modern era.

If I am not mistaken, Justin transferred to Geneva and set several school records there.

I don't think so.  Justin Wray has the total offense per play average of any non-QB in Mount history.  Dude was a flash with the ball in his hands.  Sharing the field with Kmic and Pierre probably didn't hurt.  What a nightmare for D3 defenses.

Putting "NFL Hopes" in quotes doesn't make any sense, do they not hope to play in the NFL? lol

I mean, I hope to date Sydney Sweeney

Do McMurry and Schreiner count as non-cheeseburger teams?

QuoteMount Union head coach Geoff Dartt is 56-4 at the Division III Ohio powerhouse. Though the program hasn't won a national title since 2017, Dartt has reached the national championship game twice in the last three years, including last season. The former Mount Union player has spent all but one year since 2017 with the Purple Raiders. Lance Leipold made the move from Division III to the MAC and won at Buffalo. Could another coach do the same?

Toledo defensive coordinator Vince Kehres was Mount Union's head coach from 2013 to 2019, winning two Division III national titles. The 48-year-old knows Ohio through and through, and he regularly has produced one of the top three defenses in the MAC since arriving in 2020.

Vince seems like a perfect candidate for the job

unless VK is dead set on becoming a HC right now, he might want to wait it out.  With spring ball starting up in a matter of days, a new 30 day transfer portal window for BGSU players its going to be a tough, tough start for the new head coach.  former NDC coach Mike Jacobs sounds the favorite right now if you trust the interwebs

Sorry, the position has been filled by Eddie George of Ohio State and Tennessee Titan fame.

at least there will be some continuity in Alliance this spring.  It also doesn't seem like we'll be getting an Offensive Coordinator, because why would we?  The play calling has been pristine over the past 5 years....

JCU seems to be in the tourney either way, Mount needs to win to continue their season.  Parker, the all-time Purple Raider, needs to win to play another game.

23.5% FG 18% 3P 2nd half numbers should be posted all over.  dribble-dribble-fade away was terrible

The only thing on Saturday that would surprise me would be a Mount blow-out.  I could see a close Mount win, a close JCU win or a JCU blowout if Mount wants try a 3P shootout.  Hopefully both teams play their A games and we get a fantastic final OAC battle.
