stinks that current students/athletes will have to pay to watch.  re-watching the Mount games on WIVM late night Saturday was always a good time in the off-campus house

Quote from: D3fanboy on July 15, 2025, 09:07:20 PMCan we at least dump the Flo Sports bucks into the offensive coordinator find?  I'd sign up twice

Each school gets $25K-$30K a year out of such deals -- that's not enough to fund even one full-time employee.

After the past 5 seasons, I'd take an intern at this point

I'm sure all Raiders thank Noah B for his dedication to the program and wish him nothing but the best in Michigan.  He's a helluva QB.

But coming off a knee injury, and the other QB(s) on the roster.  Mount simply can't hand him the starting job.  Both parties are probably better off

Quote from: Dr. Acula on July 10, 2025, 03:06:11 PMBeaudrie transferred to Adrian.

Why did he leave the Raiders? Competition for playing time? Other reasons?

Maloney was/is very, very highly regarded as a Mount Union QB prospect

Noah B probably didn't want to be a backup, or fighting for his job as a 5th year senior.  Adrian got a couple of Mount upperclassmen transfers this year

What other Mount guys?

I did find this: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DL4zsWFNlHY/?igsh=MTh1dHRzYmpqa255ZA==

I remember the name Nelson Fernandez as one of the transfers to Adrian and I think that there was a DL or two as well. Don't recall the name of the top of my head, but it wasn't someone who played meaningful snaps in Alliance

The WR room should be a strength.  Turner and Cooper are back and the Muskie transfer was likely the best WR in the conference last season

Quote from: Dr. Acula on July 09, 2025, 11:17:37 AMNot sure if we are counting JCU, but Dean Paul is an assistant there.  A quick look on rosters and I didn't see any other names jumping out at me as Mount guys.

JCwho?  drawing a blank....didn't they run to another conference b/c they can hardly ever, almost never beat the best football program?

with the Dartt experiment entering its 6th year and Mount not having raised the walnut and bronze since '17, is 2025 one of the most pivotal years in Mount Union football history?

there are no if ands or buts, Mount (Dartt) needs to win the big one and it's lining up pretty well...

- Dr. Luke Lehnen finally graduated

- there's no WIAC superpower any longer with everybody having 5th (6th) year seniors

- UMHB plays in an intramural league and none of their vaunted transfers stay in school past September

- even Geoff can handle the east coast "powers"

- homefield advantage in the Stagg @ Canton

if it doesn't happen this year, when will it happen for Dartt?

Quote from: D3 Poster on July 08, 2025, 05:46:18 PMOf the 2024 staff of 14, two of the three non-Mount coaching grads have moved on to new schools.  Mount always seems to have the highest % of alums on the staff in the OAC.  Are any Mount grads on another OAC school staff?

Jason Lewis - OC @ 'Berg is the one that jumps out.  The LK coaching tree was very impressive, but that was years and years ago at this point.  The Dartt tree is experiencing a bit of a drought at the moment

hopefully Mount can find a quality replacement.  The secondary was hardly a strength last season and they are losing a ton of experience.  I find it a little concerning that CB Zack Liebler is not listed on the tentative '25 roster

That is strange and doesn't bode well. Frustrating. He was a future AA player.

They only have 6 total CB's listed  :o

surely that wont be a problem

Kmic joins Borchert on the CFB Hall of Fame ballot.  Nate should be a no-doubt selection, but BB should have been in years ago too

Jason Candle is bringing his Toledo Rockets to Alliance for part of preseason camp.  Definitely a unique situation, hopefully both programs will benefit.  Maybe some new goalline packages for the Raiders?

https://utrockets.com/news/2025/5/15/q-a-with-head-football-coach-jason-candle.aspx

QuoteQ: You are taking your team to the University of Mount Union for the first part of training camp. This is something new for your program, but also a kind of homecoming for you as that's your alma mater, as well as other coaches on your staff.

Candle: I think it's a unique opportunity to find a way to continue to help make our team as connected as possible. There's no better way to do that than to be able to sit down and have a meal together. There's no better way to do that than to be away in a remote location where you can be together every hour of the day and really work on the task at hand. Preseason camp is for the development of your football team in all phases. This will allow us to do that. This is a unique situation because not many programs have the opportunity to go do this at a place like Mount Union. For myself and many guys on our staff, there are those memories that hold a special place in our hearts. So, it'll be cool to go back. I think our players will be excited to go see where their coaches played and developed as young coaches. But then it will be time to be get down to business and get the work done.

Quote from: pradierguy on April 15, 2025, 11:55:17 AMMount released a "new" logo for athletics today. Yawn.

Screams of consultants getting paid for consulting and that is about it.

https://athletics.mountunion.edu/news/2025/4/15/general-mount-union-announces-new-athletics-logo-brand.aspx

I'd rather hire an Offensive Coordinator than paying a graphic artist to slap a sword on the generic purple M

hopefully they don't but it wouldn't shock me if Mount messes with one of college football's iconic helmets
