MIAC Update:

Final:  Concordia-MN 4, Augsburg 2  Cobbers put up a 3-spot in the 4th and basically held on to improve to 9-12 in the MIAC,
W  Gavin (9-10).  Gusty is eliminated. A Cobber win in Game 2 and they're in. A Cobber loss, and they would own the head-to
head tiebreaker with Macalester, but split with Carleton earlier.

Game 2 Final:  Augsburg 9, Concordia-MN 1, Despite the loss, the Cobbers get the last MIAC playoff spot. Apparently Carleton would lose out on tiebreakers.

SUNYAC Finals:  Fredonia St. sweeps Oswego State 12-8, 7-0.

Game 1:  This was a back-and-forth tilt until Fredonia put a 6-spot up in the 4th inning to take the lead for good.

Game 2:  Fredonia State's Yudin tossed a 1-hit shut-out.  A 6-run 3rd inning broke this nightcap open. Fredonia St. finishes 9-7 in SUNYAC regular season play.

SUNYAC-- What is at stake today in this afternoon's SUNYAC West doubleheader of Geneseo State at Brockport State.

In the SUNYAC East, Cortland has already clinched the top spot in the East and will host a best of three semifinal series starting Saturday vs the SUNYAC West's 2nd place team.

Oneonta clinched the second spot in the East and will travel to the SUNYAC West's 1st place team for the other best of three semifinal series starting Saturday.

The two semfinal winners will play a best of three Championship series the weekend of May 15-16 at the highest remaining seed.

Each SUNYAC team gets 2 pts for a win.

Buffalo and Fredonia are tied at 18 pts, but Buffalo has already clinched a SUNYAC tournament spot based on head to head tiebreaker vs Fredonia.

Geneseo is at 16 points, but loses all head to head tiebreakers between Buffalo and Fredonia.

Brockport is at 14 points and needs to sweep Geneseo to qualify for the SUNYAC tournament.

Therefore, Geneseo State must sweep today's doubleheader at Brockport State to qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament.

Brockport State must sweep today's doubleheader vs Geneseo to qualify for the SUNYAC tournament as well.

IF both Brockport and Geneseo split the doubleheader today, then--

Buffalo State wins the SUNYAC West and will host Oneonta in a best 2 of 3 semifinal series this weekend.
Fredonia State would take 2nd place in SUNYAC West and would travel to Cortland.

If Geneseo sweeps at Brockport today, then the best of three SUNYAC semfinal series this weekend would be:

(1)  Oneonta (2E) at Geneseo (1W)

(2)  Buffalo State (2W) at Cortland State (1E)

If Brockport sweeps Geneseo today, then Brockport would be in a 3 way head to head tiebreaker with Buffalo and Fredonia, and the best of three SUNYAC semifinal series this weekend would be:

(1) Oneonta (2E) at Buffalo (1W)-- Buffalo wins the three way head to head tiebreaker 5-3 vs Fredonia and Brockport with Fredonia going 4-4 and Brockport going 3-5

There would be a 2-2 split in the second head to head series between Brockport and Fredonia--

We would then go to the results vs Buffalo State, the first place SUNYAC West winner--

Fredonia is 1-3 vs Buffalo State
Brockport is 2-2 vs Buffalo State

Therefore, (2)  Brockport would take 2nd place in SUNYAC West and travel to Cortland (1E) for the best of 3 semifinal series starting Saturday.
